Didn't they change the color of his eyes after Luke takes off the mask? I remember reading something about that - They changed his eye color to match Hayden. Still, to me, removing Sebastian Shaw and adding Hayden's ugly mug is the worst change. I thought Sebastian Shaw had a more distinguished look, it worked no matter how old he was.
Oh yes, I almost forgot about adding the 'Nooooo' right before Vader kills the Emperor, definitely the most cringe-worthy. Nowadays, I press mute right before that. I can't even watch it.

They also erased his eyebrows.

I think they should go back to the SE releases and re-insert the eyebrows but this time use Hayden's brows. For consistency.

Why not simply go back to the prequels and use Sebastian Shaw's eyebrows on Anakin for consistency?

I'll meet you halfway and settle for one original Hayden brow and one Shaw brow. Now we shake on it and eskimo rub brows.

Best guess... May 2017 to commemorate ANH's 40th anniversary.

Whenever I see this thread bumped to the top, I think I missed the big announcement.

I expect more disappointment, just like watching the prequels.

I'm thinking 2020 when the 9-film boxed set is released.

2019 but then you release it again in 2020 so people buy both sets

Wouldn't it be a missed opportunity to not charge more by including all thirteen films in a boxed set?

I doubt the 9th one will even be out in theaters by 2020.

IMDb had a 2019 release date for IX, not sure if that was going to be May or December. If the latter then 2020 would be the boxed set release year.
In the meanwhile I can enjoy VII & VIII, plus any other home video releases that might happen to come my way.

So what is the different between the packaging with Vader on the cover and the one with a young Anakin? Is there a preferred version? I see the Vader on is $89.96 right now and the other I believe is around the same price.

It will be, they'll be pumping these out fast and we're getting a Star Wars film every year over the next half decade (and probably after that too):

2015 - Episode VII
2016 - Rogue One
2017 - Episode VIII
2018 - Han Solo spin-off
2019 - Episode IX
2020 - Boba Fett(?) spin-off

They'll be going back to May releases starting with Episode VIII, so it's safe to say it'll be May for IX as well.

No difference with the discs themselves, it's just the packaging.

With that, here's an in-depth look at the new steelbook releases!:

Does this includes the stupid "Noooo!" during the ending of Return Of the Jedi?
I could do with some changes but the newest ones are just too painful.
I mean, digital Yoda on Ep I is ok.

So, is it worth it?

They are the same discs, and these discs are where those changes premiered, so yeah.
