Yeah, I don't think it's very likely that we'll get a set with every movie included, but I hope for Star Wars they at least do trilogy sets or something.

I'm sure someone has already mentioned this but now that Disney owns Fox will there be a 4k Complete Saga with the original movies not the SE. Anyone know?

No one knows for sure. There are rumors that as long as Lucas lives no despecialized ones will be officially released. Nothing is known for sure.

We do know for sure that they've announced they won't be releasing them. That seems pretty solid info.

If you're referring to "Jedi Rocks", I agree 100%. It stops the whole film dead in its tracks, and makes zero sense because the whole song is done in a supposed alien language with no subtitles. Most of the other changes make various levels of sense, but this has none.

There's that, and there's Pablo Hidalgo flat-out saying it won't happen, and for the same reason it hasn't already happened previously.

It's been ruled out repeatedly.

Sooner or later there will have to be another release of 1-6 on video. I think once the air is clear with Fox and Episode IX is out of the way they will focus on doing a release of all films. Whether 4-6 will have the original cuts is another story though frankly a repacking of the current editions I don’t think will be enough of an incentive since it’s been done 2-3 times already.

Original cuts are off the table as long as Lucas is breathing IMO. BUT they did a 4K resto of "George's latest versions" several years ago, and as much I hate the latest round of additions to the OT I'd buy them on 4K Blu-ray for sure. Upscale the existing 2K masters for the PT (Yes, I know TPM was shot on 35mm but the finished movie with its 2000 VFX shots simply does not exist on original negative, the 2K digital master is the highest quality source for that) and bosh them out on 4K Blu, job done.

You know, I can live with almost all of the changes to the OT (even the stupid Greedo thing), but the addition of the misplaced "Nooooooo!" with Vader at the climax of Jedi just kills me. It utterly robs the scene of weight and meaning and makes it feel cliche and tacky. Frankly, it cheapens it to the detriment of the entire Skywalker/Vader story arc.

Runner-up disgraces are the replaced song in Jabba's palace and replacing kindly ghost Anakin with scowling Hayden ghost.

If I could just get those three things corrected, I'd be sooo happy.

I don't mind it lol. RotJ is mostly bankrupt of any originality or anything interesting. Lucas lost any credibility with this movie.

I was almost 19 when The Phantom Menace came out, and I've loved Jar Jar since day one. He's hilarious, and Ahmed deserves a ton more respect for bringing him to life.
