I think I had a "Making Of" CD-Rom that had that video on there, I use to watch that all the time.

I'm one of the few that respects Lucas's decision to go back and change the movies to better fit into his orginal vision. I may not agree with all the changes, but the ones I like far outweigh the ones I don't. I'll go so far as to say I prefer the movies the way they are now.

Take out the Jabba scene or improve the CGI, let Han shoot first, and shorten or take away the RotJ dance sequence and you'd have no complaints here. I don't really complain anyway, life's too short to be that angry or annoyed.

Added beak-thing still looks lame, IMO. Footage looks good, though.

Ok so I been away for a couple of days, been in the process of moving and took them a couple days to get my internet back on. Anyways so I have been getting caught up and well it took me a while to get all the new posts read so here is my run down on what I have been reading.

First after I finally got past all those lightsaber posts I decided to go through my DVD's both sets the proper release and the bonus feature versions and I did my own comparisons on the light saber shots for the first time ever. First of all, damn you guys for ruining it for me, I had been blind to the problems and had maintained that they still looked damn good to me, well after what was like 20 pages of comparisons I finally did my own and damn it you guys had to ruin it for me thanks a lot.

What I found interesting though is even though the colors were off a little in some scenes I did not think it was as bad as some people were making it out to be but the real interesting thing I noticed was the colors on the box art, it all was different from one shot to another. So I started going through my Special Features, and yeah it has been a few hours of browsing but I remember in one interview it was stated that Jedi use Green and Blue and Sith use Red and that it was a special accommodation for Samuel L to get his Purple blade.

And hey I am just getting caught up so don't take this the wrong way guys thanks.

On the topic of the audio channels being switched around or whatever, I went through my tapes, laser discs and dvds and I noticed that well as of right now I do not have a surround sound set up but I did notice that some dialog was different from different versions like in Empire Strikes Back there were some lines spoken by a technician right before Vader said "that is it, that is the system" there was dialog I did not recognize. I only have Episode I and STAR WARS and Empire Strikes Back on VHS but my VCR stopped working on me half way through my Episode I pre-movie documentary so I need to get a new VCR before I can compare those versions but I did find it odd that there was different dialog in that one scene, I thought I noticed some changes in A New Hope also but I did not make a mental note of the lines I was going to compare but it seams to me there was some different lines in I think it was the Death Star scene where they talk about the Rebellion before Vader shows up, but I could be mistaken.

Then I went through Return of the Jedi both the DVD and the Bonus version on disc two and I did get a sense of nostalgia when that disco tune started up but I did not get to the end to listen to the other changed track because I have already gotten used to Hayden ruining that final shot in the film so I did not want to make it worse by re-watching the original shot because the only way I can accept the change is to erase the original from memory so I was not able to listen to the changed tune in Jedi to compare so no thoughts on that.

Now on the topic of merchandise, I noticed in the Story Book edition of Return of the Jedi there was a shot of Luke in the Jabba Palace scene I could not find ANYWHERE on the Laser Disc, or both DVD's and since I do not have the VHS anymore I can not comment on that. Back in the day when I did have Jedi on VHS I had only a recorded from I think it was an HBO or Cinemax version but I distinctly remember comparing that shot to the recording I had many times as a kid, it was the only Star Wars movie I had until the SE VHS set came out, so anyways I am wondering if anyone has info on that shot, it is Luke hanging from the railing while someone stomps on his hands, it is even mentioned in the text of the story book, but I have not checked the novel to compare that but I do know there are differences from the story book to the novel so I don't know.

On the topic of what order will I be watching, I am going to start with the special features, well specifically the Deleted Scenes and the Trailers to start with from there I plan on watching the movies in numeric order first, then go back and watch them start with Episode I watching them one at a time with commentary and special features related to each film one at a time followed by one final (yeah right) run through in the release order, and then I will revert to my regular rotation of watching a different movie each month.

On the topic of when and where I plan to buy, for one I never order online unless I have no choice, so I will take my chances with the local vultures I guess. I still haven't found Back to the Future anywhere local but I did move this weekend to a better area so hopefully that makes a difference.

Last thing I am gonna leave you all fine people with is I have made up my mind whatever it costs I am getting a projector and I am was able to raise enough I should get a good one will post pics when I do.

So sorry to see Starwarsagent leave like he did but I do understand he was getting ragged on a bit.

Wish there was a feature to remove every presence of Rick McCallum in the Blu-Ray extras. Dude gets on my nerves.

I can only imagine there is somebody as Lucasfilm lau8ghing and slapping their knees at that one.

And that 1997 CG Sarlaac beak looks dated...

But either it's my imagination, or the color-timing/blue filter has been removed or toned down from all three films if those videos are accurate to what we will see. Looks more natural than I remember. Looks great.

I agree. I don't like him either.

I started to watch ROTS DVD with audio commentary and after 10 minutes, I had to shut it down. Lucas, McCallum, Knoll (ILM guy) and some other guy from ILM were doing it. Only Lucas had something interesting to say, other guys were just horrible. McCallum was of course the worst. He had nothing to say - really. The whole time I was hearing "look at this shot", "isn't it beatiful?" and so on. After I shut the commentaries down at the beginning, I went later to key scenes in the movie and the commentaries were still horrible. ILM guys sounded like some nerds, obsessed with technology.

Only Lucas provided some interesting informations, mostly because he was the only one interested in the plot. Other guys were only interested in CGI and technology and that's not what the film is about. "Special effect without a story is a pretty boring thing".

Those commentaries will be available on BD, so you can convince yourself.

I forgot about these:

I hope all the trailers and TV spots are included on each special features disc in HD, but then again, it starts to really eat into the 40 hours of features!

Nope, it has already been reported that TPM 3D is locked and approved. It HAS to be the blu-ray version of the film.

Locked even though it doesn't come out for over six months?

This is exactly what happened with Alien Anthology : gorgeous sort-of digibook for the US and ugly digistack for France, but the US boxset was completely french-friendly and region-free, which is why I sold my french boxset and purchased the US edition instead.

I hope then the 9-discs US boxset will be french-friendly : french non-canadian audio, plus french subs for everything, and region-B compatible.
Well, being a french canadian, I do hope that we have our versions here in North America.
