This^ The Podrace sequence with lossless audio is one of the scenes I am most looking forward too. I expect nothing less than for it to be the #1 scene for a person to demo their HT with come Sept. 16.

How good would it be if they released a screen shot from an iconic scene, every day from now until the release. I know it won't happen but if I was the PR for this that's what I would have done.

Definitely looks alot more vibrant and sharp (however it's 720 vs 1080), although I swear I remember reading something about the colour changes from these scenes before...

So nice to see Tatooine without the blasted edge enhancement. Would love to see shots of the Naboo invasion.

wow, i am actually impressed. wasn't expecting that-

that being said, this was the film that needed the most work out of all of them as far as transfer quality goes- its HDTV master was terrible.

i can see how that scene will definitely play well in 3d- it almost feels 3d now with the way it pops on certain shots- especially when they go into that tunnel-

on a side note, why do they even give you the 1080p option on youtube- when viewed at full screen it is just a compressed jobbled mess.

A good look at the pre-order complete saga boxset offer for the UK, a senitype film cell

SW_Limited_Ed_Senitype_Back-610x470.jpg

Is every other territory getting anything for the early order?

A write up on the event in the UK over the last weekend:

http://www.heyuguys.co.uk/2011/08/16...ars-tv-series/

Interesting quote from ILM about no UOT:

I first had the chance to sit down with ILM Digital Artist John Goodson and Visual Effects Supervisor Bill George. They told us a little about the films on the Blu-ray and in particular which of the many variations of the Original Trilogy we would see. “It’s the Special Editions, that’s what George [Lucas] wanted. If you had two films on a disc would have compressed them further. So it’s one film per disc for the maximum resolution,” George said. I asked them if they had a preference and they avoided the question with tact, leaving us in no doubt of their feelings.

Some gems of information in there. Explains the lack of a branching option as well then!

It's funny how everyone in the article is convinced this is the last time you will have to buy the films, I bet that was not on the Lucasfilm script

Guys....seriously. Can we drop the "Branching option" talk? It would be IMPOSSIBLE.

The fun you can have with the PT release - Part One

Spot the same duplicate characters in the following picture

Noname.jpg

So how did you do? Here are some examples.

Noname1.jpg

Seriously, one frame from the film in HD will keep my kids occupied for a week! Love it!

Default Will the US edition be french-friendly, like the US Alien boxset was ?

I live in France, and I think I'll prefer the US boxset over the french one, because of the boxset itself : the US boxset seems to be a gorgeous sort-of digibook with thick carton pages, whereas the french boxset seems to be an ugly plastic digistack

This is exactly what happened with Alien Anthology : gorgeous sort-of digibook for the US and ugly digistack for France, but the US boxset was completely french-friendly and region-free, which is why I sold my french boxset and purchased the US edition instead.

I hope then the 9-discs US boxset will be french-friendly : french non-canadian audio, plus french subs for everything, and region-B compatible.

Another new video on Walmart's site:

No good screen shots to debate. It's about the Acklay from AOTC.

...and already posted....sigh. This thread could lose about 300 pages of people posting the same stuff if they actually bothered to read back a few pages. A whole 4 pages this time https://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-mo...ml#post5080024

I really, really dont get why the DVD bonus features (docs, web docs, trailers etc) couldn't have been included on the blu ray set.

As it is I now have to retain 4 seperate DVD's to have a proper set of special features! I like trailers and the docs like Empire of dreams and The Beginning were worth the cost of DVD alone. I just can't see the replay value of prop and costume turnarounds! The special features of the SW blu ray can hardly be called exhaustive if what has been published is everything there is!

Why couldn't they have a set like the Alien Anthology which has a seperate disc with the original DVD quadrilogy special features in SD but all on one disc. To own the Alien Anthology blu ray is to know that you have everything and can retire the DVD's.

I think the reason the supplements from the previous DVDs are not here is that, I think, they see this Blu Ray set as a companion piece to those DVDs.

In a sense, you're not suppose to get rid of the DVDs. And in a way, I'm glad. I'm glad they came up with new material for this Blu Ray set, instead old material (Lord of the Rings...).

And actually, you can look at the Lucasfilm Archives with 360 degree turnarounds as extensive because each model, costume, or whatever design is coming with behind the scenes interviews and footage of said designs.

We haven't even discussed the deleted/extended scenes and other supplements on there that haven't been announced.

Are there any supplements we don't know about? Thought we pretty much knew them all!

How many DVDs do you own? Between my wife and I, we have around 1000. Not including the 100 Blu-Ray titles.

Is a whopping four more DVDs really that big of a deal? Hey - do you have Star Wars - A Musical Journey? The DVD that came with the Episode III soundtrack?

If so, that's a fifth DVD you're going to need to hang on to.
