For me I want my horror bleak and disturbing. As noted in my post in this thread just prior, I cannot stand super exaggerated death scenes. The old classics such as A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Halloween, and TCCM certainly have some of that, but it is within reason to me. Pro-B hit it on the head with Jacob's Ladder, if you want something disturbing that is a must own.
