I have no problems with you not liking the last half (each to his own taste), but I can't really see the similarities to the movies you mention. |

[Show spoiler] Edit: I might go easier on the film but I feel that it's greatness has been greatly exaggerated, and would like to present another point of view. Personally, I find that the second half comes across as a rather po-faced collection of ideas that I have already seen before. But like you said, each to their own. But what makes this film so good to me is that it breaks away from the dreary and stupid horror/re-make/sequel/prequel garbage that Hollywood has been dumping out for the last 5 years now. Horror was (for me) almost dead. And then suddenly some moviemakers from France comes along and blows new life to the genre that I love more than any other genre. Both Martyrs and Inside have it's shortcomings and flaws, but for me they both gave me back the joy of watching (new) horror movies. ![]() |

the scene that got me the most was when she was bathing the victim with the bolted in helmet thing.in a lot of other films it may have been lit in a dark shadowy way.but here it was so starkly shot it just seemed real.one of the best blus i have film wise.apparently the director is making hellraiser next.im disturbed already

I "enjoyed" the movie (don't know if it's the right word) but at the same time understood perfectly that many people will be repeled by it. On the other hand, as much as I "enjoyed" it, for me it doesn't have great replay value. I'll watch it maybe once a decade. ![]() |
