They let the cameras roll on the train fight, but it would have only been shots running longer for the most part. There were no outright censor trims to Hunt's edit that I'm aware of. It was only later TV airings that usually made cuts.
I forgot to mention the deleted London chase sequence in OHMSS that sourced many classic set stills and is referenced in Campbell's newspaper when Bond is arriving in Switzerland. Originally Bond and Bray's conversation ran longer and it was revealed the college assistant was a SPECTRE agent listening in. Bond finds a listening device and gives chase across London resulting in the enemy's death. MI6 stages a train crash to explain the agent's sudden death so no one will be suspicious. I guess this was cut for time and thus we have the hard cut after "I'd like to get him out of Switzerland..." In DAF, the oil rig finale originally had an underwater component which explains the divers on the bottom on the film's main poster. Also, the original finale was to have Bond hanging off the mooring rope of the sub and culminating in Bond and Blofeld in a fight to the death inside of a flooding salt mine. Obviously it would have been more expensive and less in line with the film's tone...and Connery vs. Charles Gray hand to hand likely would have not worked. |

This thread reminds me: there isn’t anyone out there that wants to trade the ultimate set for the Bond 50 box+Skyfall and Spectre is there?
I’d love to have the slimmer box wih cases and the EoN docu. My B50 set is still in the shrink and I keep the discs in seperate cases. |

The 2016 set is on sale for $68. While I am sorely tempted at getting the non-Craig Bond movies physically, I do want to own them digitally.
Unless M2D is possible on James Bond movies now, do any Bond collections other than the Ultimate one have all the movies Digitally? |

I bought it when they were selling it with the model car super cheap for Black Friday last year. Sold the codes, the Bond 50 set (into which I inserted my Skyfall disc, and I included the standalone Skyfall cover sleeve), and the car. Came out ahead and saved a ton of shelf space. And got Spectre, which I didn't previously own.

All of the Bond films, were remastered in 4K, way back in 2012.
Yet the studio, for some strange reason, continues to not release them on Blu-ray. Don't they realize that they're siting on a gold mine? Because EVERY fan and collector. would gladly double dip, to get 4K versions of these films. |

I'm sure UHDs will start coming out eventually, on some anniversary or alongside a new movie. Home video rights for the series have always bounced around and that's probably part of the reason it hasn't happened yet. Also the fact UHD is still in its infancy.

It's not really that the rights are "bouncing around" though, MGM have been using Fox as their video distribution partner for close to a decade and nothing has changed on that front. Casino Royale started out with Sony and ended up back with MGM/Fox, yes, but that's the only one as every Craig film since then has been with MGM/Fox on video from the get go. Universal will have the video rights to the new movie.
MGM not having two brass farthings to rub together and thusly not having entered the UHD Blu-ray market in general are the key factors here. |

Yes. This and Ft13 are the most re-watched sets in my collection. Sell your Craig films as a lot on Ebay and the price will become even more reasonable.

Doesn't really matter if MGM don't want to release them though, you know? They're the ultimate controllers of the content no matter who they've shacked up with e.g. whenever the Kino insider talks about licensing they never mention Fox when dealing with MGM's stuff: they go to the organ grinder, not the monkey.
