@cmatthews - Awesome frame-ups, I would expect nothing less from you

@Freak_Zombie - Thanks for those photo's! The picture of the bathroom was cool, I'm looking for inspiration for the bathroom next to our theatre, I am going to repaint it and hang some prints in it for sure. I also have a cool Alien soap dispenser for it. I do like your lightsaber... I think I may steal that idea, I wonder if you could use one as the primary light source for the room.

Completely agree. I would even by the Star Wars prequel posters.

Thanks man, you're much too kind!. Do post pics of your bathroom when you're done. I also have two cute funko pops, Robocop and alien on the toilet too.

And nah, the light saber is not enough as a primary light source, maybe a few?

Ya, the lightsaber below the mirror isn't enough, but I was thinking of one above the mirror and one using a long halogen lightbulb, I was thinking some custom job on one that could actually be wired into the houses electrical as a full blown light fixture.

My bathroom currently has a string of those "hollywood dressing room" bulb lights above it and I hate that light fixture. A lightsaber up there would be really cool! I did some googling though and didn't really find anything. I was amazed at the custom lightsaber sites but they all run on LED lighting... which makes for a much cooler lightsaber of course, just a lousy main light for a room

It's been kind of slow as of lately. Keeps my wallet happy and with school piling up it's nice not to have to worry about being around a computer every Thursday

Hope everyone is doing well. Newest print for me was the Pacific Rim Metal Variant. I think I posted pics but I may have forgot with how busy I have been

I know the initial ones that I saw up were obviously not "official" posters and were coming out of China or Thailand.
Apologies for the delay, have been out of town at a convention and just got back. I have not personally seen that Captain America 2 teaser but as Adam pointed out, he did see it at a theater close to him so it is a legit poster. Here is what I can tell you about the Disney/Marvel posters from here on out (actually starting with The Avengers).....they will be VERY tough to get. The "final" style for Avengers was virtually impossible for dealers to get, those who did get them, got a few, and sold out. I was only able to get the international final style, and luckily I still have them in stock, but the prices on them have jumped considerably due to the few that actually got out there onto the secondary market in near-mint/mint condition, so that pretty much eliminates most that ship to theaters as they tend to be poorly packaged up.

Thor 2 posters are quite hard to find, as are Captain America 2, so finding them from dealers will be difficult, and that will result in more knock-offs appearing online, which you would be wise to avoid as you mentioned. Sellers on eBay that have them are probably ones from theaters, so it would be best to inquire as to their actual condition, and then, as I have mentioned a bunch of times in the past, packaging is key, and so few people seem to realize on eBay how to properly package a poster up. I am trying to get Thor 2 and Captain America 2, but so far, not much luck.

Can't find the official movie poster selling/trading thread...
There isn't a thread devoted to just buying/selling movie posters, but there is a "for sale" thread that you can post it in on this site.

No, it's still sitting in it's sleeve flat, one of these days, I am slowly remodeling and have stuff that has been framed that I have never put up on my walls. Very odd I know, but I have lived in my place for 14 years and have yet to actually put stuff up on my upstairs walls. To say I am a procrastinator is an understatement. I do want to take a good photo of it and post it here, and on James White's Facebook page. He only made two of these, so its kind of cool that it is signed/numbered #1/2 by him, and adding Carpenter's signature to it was a real treat. I am tempted to hold off framing it until I can somehow get Russel to sign it. James had Russel sign one for himself that he posted but it wasn't one of the two numbered ones he had released.

Provided they are in near-mint/mint unused condition and are authentic, I would say $16 would be a steal actually. I have yet to see an international version, is it the same artwork as the domestic but with different wording on it?

Instead of the Date it has something like "Coming Soon" and the Classification notice is different to the Domestic version.

I still have to verify the quality but the guy said it was from a local cinema in Sydney (here in AUS).

Yeah that would make sense, much like Disney putting "In Cinemas Soon" on the Avengers final style as opposed to the actual date like here on the domestic version. Yeah if you get a chance to see them up close before buying, you may want to do that, obviously you know what to look for with regards to condition and if they are clean and look good, that price is quite cheap. Anything Captain America 2, Thor 2, etc are hard for dealers to find, collectors at this time are resorted to buying from eBay sellers and that is a major crap shoot. I am still trying to hunt some down, as are other dealers I am sure.

Really depends on what you're looking for and what your budget is. Originals or reprints, modern or old, once you figure out what you want your budget will likely dictate whether you will be looking at originals or not.

A site like allposters.com specializes primarily in reprints, movieposter.com has a good mixture of both originals and reprints and has been known to be pretty fair in their description of their posters and there is always ebay too which generally can be a crap shoot when it comes to authenticity but bargins can be found. You can always try local theatres too and see if you can get any handouts. Poster dealers are also a great resource, we have a resident one here in this thread, Kinsella5, I've purchased from him in the past and you can't beat his service. There is a bunch of other sites online, but naturally any more information you can provide on what you're looking for will make the questions easier to answer.

Hi there thanks for your informative post! I am looking for a Terminator 2 poster, posters for the Friday the 13th franchise and the Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, also any other horror movies as well, maybe even some Batman flicks too, also Back to the Future part 2 as well, so a different variety of stuff really, I don't really care if they are originals or reprints honestly it doesn't really matter and I have already sent a PM to that user as well.

Well, depending on your budget you are really looking at the reprint route for most of those franchises as those are all rather popular franchises. T2 for example on movieposter.com is $78 for an original and $10 for a reprint. I think a site like allposters.com or even the ebay route may be best for you. allposters.com has a 25% off everything sale right now. From a "investment" perspective if you go the original route and keep your posters in good shape you could find yourself with a collection that has some value in the future, but if you're just throwing some posters up on the wall and don't want to spend too much reprints are probably the right choice for you.

Any particular way I need to frame them? I don't want to spend much on that either if I have to.
