As long as you keep them in a cool dry place they should be fine for five years or so. Hard to say exactly but you should be ok. You can always get replacement plastic poly tubing but you have to usually buy it in bulk. I asked someone who got a poster from the Disney site and they said the plastic polytubing DMR uses is 3" wide. I use 2.5" wide myself and eventually I may be able to offer poly tube sleeve material to those who want to replace their plastic sleeves for posters without having to spend the money to get the huge rolls of it which can be expensive.

I know that was a title I didn't stock in quantity but honestly I can't recall having any left, I would say a small percentage that I do, as I filter through my inventory if I find one I will advise. :-)

Just ordered a Man Of Steel Advance, I hope it's legit but that was a must as it's one of my favorite films of all time... I may need to track down all of them.

Two teaser advance styles, one final style, I believe an IMAX style were done for that film. I think I only got in the advance B and the final. I also think somewhere I have one left of the huge bus shelter style.

That image was the Comic-Con giveaway poster but also the first teaser advance. The Bus Shelter style was this one:

Ah, I remember that image, it's really nice... I'm assuming a poster that huge would need to be custom framed.

A custom frame would cost a fortune and honestly i don't really recommend framing things larger than a one-sheet movie poster. A frame for a bus shelter size poster would be extremely costly but also the glass would be insanely fragile and easily would break. I guess someone could frame it and go with a plexiglass but overall it would be expensive since the bus shelter version is 48x60 inches I believe. There are probably other alternatives to displaying which would be cheaper.

Geez! that's crazy.

I received the Man Of Steel Advance poster yesterday, I'm really happy with it... saw a few more I want, next pickups will be Hellboy 2004, Constantine 2006 and most would laugh but Terminator Genisys, movie wasn't great but Arnold and Emilia were awesome.

Is there any easy way to know (or resource for) whether you have a real or fake movie poster made in the last 20 years or so? I don't have a good eye for these things, and have purchasing for years from a certain cranky ebay dealer I always thought was legit, but I now see has a bad reputation.

I cannot tell what texture a real or fake is supposed to be, or why some say "version a/b/c" and others don't, or what it means if the back of a double sided isn't lighter, etc.

You can find a lot of helpful info in this thread but at the same time I can understand if you don't want to go through a ton of pages. I will private message you directly with some helpful info.

Curious if that will be an IMAX exclusive one-sheet original or a mini 11x17 or 13x19 giveaway style for those who see it on IMAX on opening day. I am sure more details will follow soon....

Here's a question: will a movie theater give any of their posters away to non-employees when they are done showing the movie? I have often wondered what theaters do with them- throw them away, give them to employees, sell them?

My local used to auction the more popular ones to customers and give the proceeds to a local charity, but now they just dump them all in a cardboard box in the lobby and charge 50p (60 cents) for them. I picked up a gorgeous Hellboy poster from there a couple of months ago - crap movie, wonderful bit of art for the wall.

Better than that is the mint, unused Aquaman teaser I got from my local. Double-sided and exquisitely printed, it is a stunning piece of artwork.

Obviously, the attached image in no way does them justice...

I used to work for Warner Bros publicity.

The posters are given to theatres for advertising only during the run of the feature. They are supposed to be returned or destroyed after use.

Of course, next to none of them are returned. Most of them are given away or destroyed. I used to go to theatres and get them for free, but it is really up to the discretion of the theatre.

Pretty much what Greg says but you should ask your local theater what they do with their posters as they may not have many employees who want them. The larger theater chains probably stick to certain rules, so you may have more luck with the smaller theaters, if those even exist anymore. Never hurts to ask as you may be able to get some stuff for free going that route.

I have a decent number of posters these days but not a lot of wall space. Is there any kind of portfolio styled holder for 27x40 posters? I've always wished to have some sort of flip designed case like that for my posters instead of having to keep the others rolled.
