That is because very few were made for the 2009 re-release. It was only in theaters I believe for about two weeks, I actually was surprised a poster was even made for it, I would have thought they would have used the Final Style "B" from the original release with the flaming bat symbol in the building on it with maybe a tag line about it being re-release to theaters, but the studio ultimately with a new poster. To my knowledge you will find that "most" dealers either never could get them or don't have any available, it really is that rare, in fact the rarest of any poster for The Dark Knight, and can be quite expensive because the fewer the poster, especially for a big film like Dark Knight, the higher the demand, and collectibility value, the higher the price.

TIP: Most eBay sellers give you a discount on shipping for additional posters, usually for just an extra dollar or $1.50 each, so I always go into their eBay stores or additional auctions page, and try to buy 3 or 4 posters at a time from any given seller to get a better shipping rate per poster. $6 or $7 shipping for a single, individual poster really adds up fast, sometimes more than the poster costs itself...
Just be careful on eBay, yes there are originals for sale, but also reproductions. Always ask a seller questions about the poster, if they don't give you the answers you want, or won't respond, personally I would not give them your business. Also, eBay is a haven for those who sell posters but have zero experience in the poster industry and in most cases have no idea what they are talking about. They generally are people who get some posters from their local theater and sell them. What they consider to be "in mint condition" a collector would call it "good condition". Packaging is very important too, always make sure the package to anticipate damage while shipping, that way they can avoid just that...damage to the poster. You can find some good stuff on eBay if you do your research and ask questions and look at the sellers feedback, etc, but be mindful there are a lot of originals on eBay, but there are also a lot reproductions on there too so just an F.Y.I.

Yeah that Willie one went very fast, sold out in about thirty seconds I believe. I got one as well. This was the first of a series of Disney-themed prints, much like they did for Star Wars last year. I personally would like to see a series of Spielberg-themed prints myself.

Congrats, yes they went really fast! Maybe we'll get Speilberg in their director's series. I'm still waiting for the rest of the Guillermo Del Toro ones. Pan's Labyrinth and Devil's Backbone should be interesting.

But hey you guys in Canada have it quite good with Alien Anthology on Blu-ray at Costco, its $49.99 Canadian there, its still about $90-$100 here at Best Buy.
Thanks for the FYI on the Aliens btw, just picked it up this afternoon... Cant wait to check the first two movies out in blu!

To stay on topic, I did win an auction recently for my first poster art waiting on another one, when I get the prints in and have them framed I'll post pics.

Go the eBay route if really want one, prices have come down since Friday already. Generally there is a good chunk of collectors and flippers and the flippers get them posted right away. Some who really have to have it buy it on eBay right away, but if you wait a few days, eBay becomes flooded with them and the prices come down. Soon after the market dries up making them harder to get and sometimes the prices then go back up.

A guy I know is coming down to Seattle from Vancouver Canada for next weekends "Emerald City Comic-Con" which is quite an event here in Seattle. He is going to check his local Costco up there and pick up the Alien Anthology for me on Blu-ray he said if they have it. I heard the price was down to $47.97 at Costco up there, and generally when an item ends in .97 that means it is on clearance and that Costco is going to stop carrying the item.

I am only interested in Alien/Aliens but I figure since they will probably be $20-$25 each when they are eventually released individually, I would rather pay the same $50 and get the entire 6-disc collection of all four films and the bonus material. I do like the packaging too. I doubt I will sit through Alien: Resurrection again but price-wise, it just makes sense to have the entire collection for basically the same price.

Jason Goes to Manhattan. Ahh what a bad movie. It's hard not love it though!

Oh it's nothing new, just one of a couple I thought I'd like for the theatre. I don't plan to add many more as I do want to get these nicely framed and have limited wall space. Crossing my fingers I get this one at a 'good' price.

The auction just wrapped up so I should have two posters on the way to me next week sometime. One Stout Iron Man variant and one Davis Leon: The Professional. I would have loved a Stout Basterds but that is out of my league. I'm a little afraid to see what framing is going to run me, but I want something nice so I know it won't be cheap. Pics when I get the framing done.

Nice pickups! Looking forward to seeing them framed. Any ideas what you're doing? I was considering a double mat on the Leon one but the rounded outline makes it look kinda weird.

I figured matting for sure, hadn't really thought past that, debating wood framing over metal framing... I was going to let the framer guide me, good point on the rounded corners, wonder what it would look like with rounded matting to match?
