Never saw American Buffalo but the cast, writer and genre make it an easy blind-buy at that price. Threw in Killer Elite as well since I've been wanting it for a while. Want Alfredo Garcia as well but I will add that to Bronson next month, spread things out.

I don't know why, but I got a gut-feeling Criterion. It's nothing more than educated guesswork. But, if they are able to get a few other titles upgraded to Blu, then you've got a nice Mamet box set that they can release. Especially now that they have access to the New Line/WB stuff.

Picked up American Buffalo and one other title (shipping to Canada works out better that way) and used the 3% discount (for a whopping $1.35 savings). Now to take care of the rest of my wishlist on Wednesday with the signed promo (which I've noticed nobody has mentioned, but it's I Could Go On Singing signed by producer Lawrence Turman).

I'd be all over a Mamet box set. Criterion's already done the DVDs for "House Of Games" and "Homicide", "Things Change", "The Spanish Prisoner" and "Redbelt" (even though a Blu-ray has already been released)are Sony titles, and "Spartan" and "Heist" are Warner. Not sure about "The Winslow Boy", though.

It's certainly possible...but then again, it's also possible that TT could release "Things Change" and "The Spanish Prisoner" themselves.

I've got the German release of From Noon Till Three. I wonder if this will be an upgrade in the PQ department.

Have to agree with you. And to be honest i'd much prefer to see Oleanna, The Winslow Boy and his little seen The Water Engine get upgrades..

Man I could easily order 4-5 titles from next month's releases. First time that has happened. $150 is way too much so gonna have to guess which ones might sell out sooner. Probably none of them are really going to be fast movers.

Well at just over Ģ30 delivered (to the UK), any film I buy from TT has to be an absolute must have.

I donīt think so. Iīve got the German Blu-ray as well and the picture quality is very good.

I donīt think the Twilight blu-ray will be superior but maybe the Twilight Blu-ray has a better bitrate and therefore a better compression.

But I like the US-cover much more than the German cover.

Hate to be that guy but Twilight Time is now using those stupid eco cases. My copy of HARDCORE arrived with a creased sleeve because of the cutouts. Not good. Especially at $30+ a pop.

I don't think this qualifies as a "that guy" kind of post. Not when you're paying a premium price for TT discs.

I have a few spare clear TT-style cases left over from when I converted all my old TT titles to those cases so I can swap Hardcore and Theater of Blood, but I'm not happy to hear they've gone eco.

They've used them at least twice before already. Both Man In The Dark 3D, and The Bride Wore Black had them. Not sure if there were any others.

Hopefully it's not going to be on all releases going forward.

Edit: The Way We Were had one too.

Nothing wrong with complaining about that. Eco cases suck serious balls and it's disappointing that TT have decided to cut corners like that.

Just out of curiosity, did it come in a blue eco-case or a clear one? Looks like I may have to place an order with TT for more of their solid clear cases and continue to order the titles I want at 3 or more at a time from SAE so that they arrive bubble-wrapped in a box, I guess.
