If it was released back during the Original Trilogy, it would have Han or Luke on it.

That's hardly an argument, considering that by necessity the PT couldn't have existed at that point. Don't get all butthurt that Lucasfilm Licensing didn't foresee the inherent jokes to be derived from the above book's name and cover art choice.

And besides, a hypothetical OT-based counterpart would have been titled "Junior High Writing"...

Episode I: The Phantom Menace

A new blurring effect is used when Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn use Force Speed to escape the droidekas.

The medium shot of Nute Gunray and Rune Haako observing Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan escaping the droidekas is replaced with a long shot.

In a scene with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan discussing Anakin's fate on Coruscant, the sun was brightened from orange to white.

Episode II: Attack of the Clones

During the chase on Coruscant, when Anakin and Obi-Wan pass through the power couplings, several shots are rearranged.

During Anakin's nightmare scene, a voiceover of his mother Shmi is added.

After Yoda saves Obi-Wan and Anakin from Count Dooku's falling pillar, the reaction shots of Yoda and then Anakin and Obi-Wan are moved to before the shots of Dooku escaping on his ship and Padmé Amidala and the clonetroopers arriving and firing at him.

Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

The scene in which Obi-Wan encounters General Grievous on Utapau and the Clone Army arrives is altered, adding dialogue from the troopers as they land on platform.

The transition from Padmé's ship to Vader on Mustafar is changed from a straight cut back to a wipe, restoring the original theatrical release.

Good visual comparison here

Forgot how awful that original puppet from The Phantom Menace was. Looked like a Klingon Yoda.

Are these the same sources that were discussed earlier where it was asserted that only digital versions of the previous films will be released this year?

Anyway, according to these sites, that's what's coming in May or September -- only digital releases. Doesn't rule out a disc release, but doesn't indicate one either.

Disney won't lose any sleep over it but if they only release the UOT as digital downloads/streaming I will not buy them, see any of the new films or buy anymore merchandise.

People are hoping for the Unaltered Original Trilogy on Blu. Yes the films are out on disc but the UOT is not.

You're repeating what I said back to me. Ideally it would use seamless branching, but it can't do straight-up fully theatrical edition on the same disc. So either both versions would have the digital cleanup and polish with only the extra content scenes being different, or it would be two discs.

I really don't see them doing some huge 10 disc set. I would guess if raw theatrical editions happen on disc it will be a special Original Trilogy Box Set with the original cuts and a bonus disc and if you want the SEs and prequels those sets exist already.

This is twice in this thread , but is seriously bares repeating.
The links say original triliogy, not, I repeat not, the GOUT
So original trilogy, not original cuts.
Digital is a massive market in 2015, and there is a missing link with the Star wars films.

If they release these films digital only then they better not be measly 5gb files and only have lossy audio. So far Vudu, Amazon, and the other digital providers don't offer quality near blu-ray so if Fox and Disney expects me to shell out money for the release at the same cost as a blu-ray set they better have the same quality as a blu-ray set. That means big file sizes and lossless DTS HD-MA audio. That's the only way they'd get my money for a digital release.

Yeah I know which is why I won't be buying them if they are only released digitally. Which is why I don't think they will only release them only digitally. If they are just releasing the current special editions and the PT they would be foolish to alienate blu-ray buyers so they will repackage the current blu-rays and release those at least.

And if it's new versions they are releasing then they aren't going to spend money on new transfers of the OT, special editions or UOT, and only release them digitally. That would just limit profits.

So either way their will be a physical release of some sort this year.

Umm yeah those look like two sites that I would put my faith in knowing what is or isn't going to be released!

You know why the Unaltered versions are coming out? Because as strong as the rumors are not one single source be it Disney, Fox or Lucasfilm has yet to come out and say they are not coming. You don't think they know about the rumors? You don't think they know what's going on with Originaltrilogy. com? I don't think they are going to jack with fans emotions just to end the end give them the finger. I think we will know by May one way or the other...personally I think they are coming out to bring the whole Star Wars fandom together....

The reports are apparently from Hasbro, which I'd say IS pretty credible.

Still, I agree with your other points, so we'll see.

You're confusing rumors. The new Hasbro thing is just a "digital release of the original films" or whatever, which almost surely means a digital version of the current blu ray version. The other rumor, about the original theatrical cuts being restored and released, was from months ago by a few websites.

And by a few credible sites like the Digital Bits who I know have some Hollywood insiders for their Rumor Mill. Wouldn't one of those entities have put out a statement like currently at this time there is no truth to blank being released. What would be the gain to have this speculation go on and on? People are going to be mad now or later so why have a large number of your fans mad closer to the release date?
