The biggest lie Obi Wan told was '..only Imperial Stormtroopers are so accurate'.

Even though it wasn't the original idea, Obi-Wan telling Luke that stuff makes sense imo.

I mean think about it, at this point, Luke is just a young, innocent and naïve farm boy.

Would you really tell him then and there that Darth Vader i.e. one of the most feared and evil people in galaxy was actually your dad?

No you wouldn't.

He was fabricating that story to emotionally protect him.

It's possible that he may have talked to him about it at a later date when he was more mature.

"Luke, remember what I told you about your father? Well about that..."

“This is your father’s lightsaber!”
“What did he do with it?”
“Well, among other things, kill children and try to murder me.”

Not a lie, it's true.
In A New Hope, they are bad shots up until the escape Death Star. It was all a plan to find the secret hidden rebel base.

Bingo! They were deliberately shooting poorly in those scenes.

I mean look at the opening on the Tantive IV. They were shooting really well there.

As for subsequent films... Yeah they were just bad shots.

Do the reissues from 2019 - 2020 include this version or a new transfer based off the 4K discs? Also has the third bonus disc on the 2011 complete saga been in other releases?

The 2019 ones use the 2011 discs. The 2020 ones are new BDs that use the transfers on the UHDs.

As for the bonus disc... I think it's also in the 2015 reissue of the box (the one with the Vader cover).

Also, note that Vader not only murdered Luke's father, but "betrayed" him as well. How can one betray themselves?
That's exactly what happened. He turned evil, becoming Darth Vader, which killed the person known as Anakin.
And he did it of his own free will.

You're kidding right?
A great number of people betray themselves daily {raises his hand}. Fortunately, most of the time, it isn't to this level of self destruction.

Mostly This.
HoloForce-Obi sure wasn't going to drop all that on his head right before he went to face Darth in ROTJ.

Yes, Lucas lucked out a bit in that the original backstory for Luke's father, that Obi-Wan tells, also works as a plausible lie to protect Luke from the revised "truth."

Lucas also lucked out in that he had cut out some additional references to Luke's father in the first film. In this video about the "Lost Cut" of Star Wars, a pilot comes up to Luke and says he knew Luke's father, and calls him a great pilot. No reference to any turn to becoming Vader. See the 31:25 mark:

So by "exactly this," you meant not exactly what The Fallen Deity wrote, which you didn't even fully read.

So you wrote something, realized what you wrote wasn't what you wanted, and then wrote that what you really meant was something else.

And you don't think it's possible Lucas did the same?

Only thing that matters is whats on the screen. Luke Is Darths kid, Leia is his sister, Han fires first, General Veers rules.

Oh, and Boba Fett is overrated.

From what I see the new reissues included the deleted scenes on the first two bonus disc for the 2011 complete Blu-ray set. Unless they are not present.
