I love this quote from her: ""By the time George could afford to have a film facility he no longer wanted to direct. After Star Wars, he insisted, 'I'm never going to direct another establishment-type movie again.' I used to say, 'For someone who wants to be an experimental filmmaker, why are you spending this fortune on a facility to make Hollywood movies? We edited THX in our attic, we edited American Graffiti over Francis' garage, I just don't get it, George.'"

Too bad George didn't stick to his promise... the PT films may have been rescued by a capable director.
Wow!

I just finished watching…

Star Wars Deleted Magic - Part 17

Star Wars Deleted Magic - Part 18

…from the link that 'Cook' posted and I now understand that line that Biggs said- "Hurry, Luke, they're coming in much faster this time."
So apparently Luke made TWO trench runs, not one.

And that also shows how Star Wars certainly deserved that Oscar win too.

I'll tell you what it is... It's called diverting attention from the real discussion.
It's the Elstree Ice Rink, actually. Although technically, we're both right

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clone

Star Wars: The Clone Wars(2 full hours of specially selected eps from seasons 1,2 and 3)

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
Gonna be a long day
But it will be alot of fun in the outdoor theater of yours.

I'll be viewing the saga in this order too along with a few people who have never seen SW. I'm going to bite on your idea and throw some eps of TCW between AOTC and ROTS too.

It's so incredibly geeky that I instantly knew the relevance of that rink to the world of Star Wars. Do I get a no-prize?

I didn't see the trailer. I didn't know anything about the movie and had never heard of it. I went to visit a friend in college about 1 hr. south of Chicago. One of his friends was excited about going up north to see this "movie". I went along. He was going on and on about how it was supposed to be amazing. We went to a large theatre in a Chicago suburb. It was the opening weekend. It was hot and humid. The lobby of the theatre was packed - SRO. The showing we were going to was already full. We had to wait 2 hrs. for the next showing in a hot theatre lobby that although had AC, wasn't able to handle a lobby full of people standing. I was not happy. Two hours later we got in and sat down in comfortable seats in a nicely air conditioned theatre. 30 seconds into the movie I turned to the guy who wanted us to go up there and said "all is forgiven".

I have vague memories of seeing that trailer at one point between xmas 1976 and spring 1977 but I can' t be so sure. I was 9 years old and after 34 years, that's a long time ago I do remember seeing the TV spots sometimes after May 25th and me along with my friends we were going nuts. I wanted to see it in bad way. My god father took me to see it the day after school ended in late June, it was a serious rush for me. I don't think I blink once in two hours

I never saw that one in the theater, however I LOVE that line- "Somewhere in space this may be all happening RIGHT NOW."

- LOL -

Now the trailer that could not keep me from thinking about it constantly is-

You have to throw in a few CW eps to really complete the saga! It'll really be fun to watch it with someone who's never seen them...lucky you and them too!

We should all try it and see who can really do it. I must confess, i've tried it twice before when the 1st two seasons of the CW came out but it's not easy. Eps 1 is hard for me to get through sometimes.

It's funny how much of the surrounding details people can vividly recall over thirty years later.

I was in high school and can still remember the summer smell in the air when I walked out of the theater around midnight.

It definitely made an impression.
