The Digital Yoda in Episode I is fantastic.

I always thought that those council scenes were horrible. With Yoda's facial features, it completely makes the scenes different and much better.

Glad he made those improvements.

My thoughts on Vader's "Nooooo!" I'd still rather him stay quiet, but after watching the full scene now, it's not so bad to me. Because Vader is still quiet for a while and you still see him struggling behind the mask with the close-ups, it's just immediately before he picks the Emperor he utter's the Nooos.

Agreed. Like a lot of things, when viewed in context it's a lot better!

Had the day off from work and watched the original trilogy. Overall, I was very impressed. However, I did have some minor issues. I felt that, especially in A NEW HOPE, that the sound effects tend to compete with the music score as far as levels go. Personally, I'd like the music louder and the sound effects a tad lower...but what do I know...much better than the DVD mix, that's for sure. I hated hearing Vader say "Noooo" at the end of JEDI when I saw the clip on YouTube. But seeing that same scene in the context of the whole movie...I gotta admit...it kinda worked for me! (I know, it surprised me too. Then again, I had been watching Star Wars movies for about 6 hours back to back. I might have been punchy!) Overall, I had a fun time watching. This is a worthy set even if it dosen't have the original cuts.

I haven't watched the prequels yet, but the original trilogy will knock your socks off. Your subwoofer will go nuts. Empire gets a 7 out of 5 in my book, because there are so many instances of not just really loud sounding SFX, but there are even quieter sounds I can hear clearly now. For example, when Luke is being dragged by the Wampa, I can clearly hear the sound of the snow he's being dragged on crackling, and when the Imperial officer says, "Captain Needa, the ship no longer appears on our scopes", I can hear the sounds of the other crew men pushing buttons and flipping switches. That was funny, because when I got to that part in the movie, I was reading the booklet for the Complete Saga and wasn't looking at the screen, when I heard the clicking, I thought it was the sound of the disc skipping, and I was like, "NOOOOOOOOO! I JUST GOT THIS!", but I rewinded to verify, and sure enough, it was just the sound of the switches and buttons. I don't know if those were added in by Matthew Wood, Skywalker Sound, etc. for this Blu-ray release or if those were there the whole time and I just never noticed, and the upgrade to lossless audio really makes that much of a difference. But I would not be surprised if it was the latter and not the former. Again, that's a 7 out of 5, not 5 out of 5, or 6 out of 5, but 7 out of 5.

So I just completed A New Hope. I wanted to start with that one first mostly because it's the movie that started it all for me back in 77 and I really wanted it to see it on Blu-ray.

So far it's been a busy day for me. From about 9 am to 3 pm I manage to see I would say about 80% of the special features (maybe a bit more) and now completed one movie after the break. I will go and watch The Empire Strikes Back now. Not sure if I can finish the night with Return Of The Jedi however? Twenty years ago I would have made and all night even out of it but now a days slep is too precious I know some of the young guys in here will be laughing at this but wait one day you will be in your mid 40's and come back and see me then

Overall, great set, no regret for me about getting it!
Have to agree completely with A New Hope. I was 7 myself when it hit theaters, so I HAD to start with this one. I'll probably get through Empire as well and call it a night. I'm early 40s as well, but my bigger reason for avoiding an all-nighter is fitness/weight training. Been doing it 23 years now - those young'ins ain't got nothin' on me!

Good thing George Lucas made Greedo shoot first so that five-year-olds could watch this and not be morally corrupted.

Honestly the same-time-fire isn't as bad as it's made out to be.

My tracking still says " A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated. "

I called Amazon and they have no clue where it is. They offered me a 10 dollar credit. 10 bucks. Right.

I called UPS. They have no clue where it is either. I had this preordered since Day 1.

I'm about to call them again and just tell them to cancel the whole thing. I'll buy it somewhere else tonight.

Its now nearly 7pm where I live. Well past any delivery time. My brother received his copy. Anyone else have this happen?
Not quite the same as my copy shows it arrived in the local area last night. Packages are usually delivered no later than shortly after 5pm but today UPS has yet to show up ... still waiting.

Well I bought the complete trilogy and watched 1-3 and loved them....now I'm watching 4-6 and all is great so far except one major flaw I still see and can't believe they missed it for the bluray release....it's where Luke is on the falcon practicing his saber moves with the remote...and his saber STILL looks horrible and jacked up!....this was one scene I'd of hoped they would of fixed....looks like a white jittiry stick.....oh well nothing we can do now...I'll still enjoy my set but common I could of done a way better job at editing that...:-) ...anyone else notice?

I am trying to play New Hope and the video on screen is going insane, it will basically play perfect for 5-10 minutes and then bam all kinds of video distortions. Is anyone else getting this? Do we have a new Saving Private Ryan on our hands? Or am I just unlucky and bought a set with a bad disc. I have not tried the other discs yet, but I will post back when I do. However if anyone is having trouble and are using a HTPC or a player please respond.

Just getting back to you. I let A New Hope run 25 minutes on my HTPC and no issues, however when I loaded the disc Power DVD did prompt and say it needed an update so I let it do its thing and it played fine after.

At least it's not green like on the last DVD set. And there is a light blue tinge to the lightsaber in that scene.

Honestly? It's back to how it pretty much looked in the theater and on VHS. So it doesn't seriously bug me.

I wouldn't have minded a completely repainted Saber. But like with comics, you can "No-Prize" the reason.

Now that Star Wars is finally out on blu we need to now focus our attention on the impending release of:

STAR WARS EPISODE 1: THE PHANTOM MENACE--3D

I suggest we create a new thread dedicated to this new version of Star Wars..

Yea but common....the saber should look like it did in episode 3....even Ben's saber when he fights Vader is the bright blue....it was just lazy editing on there part.....don't you remember after Vader killed obiwan and then he turns as the bay doors close....originally Vader saber was a funky white but they fixed that flaw and now its red....was red on the DVDs too so no that scene on the falcon should of been fixed....:-)
