I picked up the Complete Saga and all I got was this T-shirt (bad joke).

The Picture quality for the prequels is outstanding! Reviews had me worried....

If you have an older Blu-ray player (like me), be patient these disc take a little while to load and play.

The lack of certain deleted scenes from the PT has been known for a few weeks now.

It's been known since the release of the specs that there was no carry over of extras from most of the previous releases.

That's been typical of Lucas for a while. He likes for the most part to always include new extras. Gotta hang on to them DVDs.

Only about $25 if I remember correctly. The Videodisc, a format which deserved to die .....
Oh dear, the Videodisc, aka Selectavision, aka CED. There's several good reasons that Laserdisc won that format war, the primary one being that CED uses a physical stylus to read the grooves off the disc inside the cartridge, as compared to Laserdisc, which used a laser (duh!). Nothing like video skipping due to physical degradation of the media to ruin movie night...

I am not a Star Wars geek, but I DID pick up teh two trilogies today. I prefer the bluray cases over the cardboard slips for the disks and I dont care about hours of MAKING OF features.

BUT....

I must say, I am rather impressed with how incredible they look. I sampled a couple of them and they look awesome. Perhaps better than ever, and since I am NOT a die hard fanatic about th etrilogies, I dont find it life-alteringly offensive if Darth Says "NOOOO" or not.

It's a great set of films....it's not the Holy Grail. I am pleased. The force is with me today.

i agree with that. ESB is the best Star Wars movie and a masterpiece but ROTS is 2nd and it is pretty damn close to a masterpiece

Watched: Revenge of the Sith (8/10)

One of the top PQs I have seen, blows TPM and AOTC out of the water (just like the movie.)

You know, when I first heard that all those weeks ago I thought WTF!?
But when I watched it in context of the whole film leading upto it I actually really liked it! Which I wasn't expecting! I got goose bumps and everything!

I got the Star Wars: Original Trilogy and it looks amazing. The PQ is just stunning. I have only put on Episode IV so far.

I hope everyone is having as much fun as I am with this set?

So I just completed A New Hope. I wanted to start with that one first mostly because it's the movie that started it all for me back in 77 and I really wanted it to see it on Blu-ray.

So far it's been a busy day for me. From about 9 am to 3 pm I manage to see I would say about 80% of the special features (maybe a bit more) and now completed one movie after the break. I will go and watch The Empire Strikes Back now. Not sure if I can finish the night with Return Of The Jedi however? Twenty years ago I would have made and all night even out of it but now a days slep is too precious I know some of the young guys in here will be laughing at this but wait one day you will be in your mid 40's and come back and see me then

Overall, great set, no regret for me about getting it!

I'm 26 and almost never watch even two regular length films back to back (~100 minutes each lets say) unless you're supposed to like Grindhouse. I laugh not. I definitely couldn't have watched hours of special features straight. Never have. It's not that I'm tired, it's just not the way I watch movies.

One thing I have not heard mentioned yet.... is the disk artwork in the separate trilogies the same as the disks in the Saga set?

The entire day of watching was not a usual thing either for me. I just took the day off long ago and decided to enjoy these but I normally would not have done it but Star Wars is Star Wars

When dvd first came out I was all over the extras. Now I have so many BDs that I don't even bother unless there is a trailer to watch. (I love watching old trailers!)

Star Wars though, will be the first title in years that I got through everything.
