No BS, if I were George and at this point in my career, I would start trolling the hardcore apologist fanboys to no end.

Just release totally ridiculously altered versions of everything every other year, do ridiculous things like add in a "relationship" between Han and Lando, give the Ewoks pointy teeth and make them cannibals, CGI blue cats eyes onto Chewbacca, digitally add a little white glob to Leia's face in every scene, randomly give Luke a moustache in certain scenes and take it away in others, replace all of Boba Fett's dialogue with the sound of mosquitoes, replace Yoda with Sloth from The Goonies, make every character fart loudly and often, obscuring choice bits of dialogue, replace Darth Vader's voice with the creepy old guy from Family Guy...

All of that just to see the excuses the hardcore fanboys come up with to not only excuse it, but claim it's an improvement. That would bring me endless entertainment.

If you missed that, then you're missing out on much of the message of the movies. You may like the lights and sparkles and the sound effects, but you don't understand the essence, the core message, that GL set out to try and explain, imho.

Well, this is the point where people like you and people like me part ways. I understand the "essence" of the Creator's "core message" - I just can't believe how incredibly lame and ridiculous it is.

You think?!!! Why don't you know? Why are you forced to guess? Here is the perfect example of poorly executed writing. He could have made this conceit work, I don't deny that. But he didn't! TOO. LAZY. Glad you can discern divine meaning from the dry sand the Creator gave you. Believe me, I WISH I could like these things, I really do.

I haven't seen any static grain, but then again I didn't look for it. Still, is it possible that the static grain that some people see is some kind of decoding problem on certain players? Digital grain certainly would be animated as well and not static. Every consumer level editing software has a non-static grain plug-in.

I agree. I think these films can and should look so much better than this and we should have gotten the newest transfers possible. George counts on the fact that most of the fans have no idea what an amazing transfer should look like. We need to educate the masses instead of bashing him and then we will have a grand army of the republic and we'll march onto Skywalker Ranch and demand what is ours.

He should CGI Luke and Leia's faces so they look more alike.

CGI some of Luke's legs right off, then the line "Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper" would be 10Xs funnier.

Put a CGI Jar Jar in the background every 5 minutes in the OT because we need to know what happened to that loveable gal.

On another note, no one has brought up the fact that at least 85 percent of the dialogue is dubbed in later. (I read this a few places) Does this effect the acting? Or is this normal with most films? People complain about bluescreens hurting the acting, but if someone is in a sound booth, they are also speaking to pretty much nothing.

That's true with most movies. ADR is done in post for almost every film.

Dunno, I've had a '35 since Jan '09 and besides being slow at disc startup, and being a little finicky with a very few titles, mine's worked fine. Apparently it has known issues with one or more of the Star Wars discs. (Think my III disc might be scratched just right so the '35 locks up (will give it another try just to see later on), and the II disc seems to behave like others with the same player.)

And yes some people apparently got lemons and their blu lasers have failed, lucky for you yours was still under warranty.

I finally couldn't stand being region locked any more in June and got another player (and the Star Wars glitches weren't repeatable on it). But I've lately been using the '35 again for Region A titles mostly so I don't have to switch the Oppo back and forth between regions all the time. (I was waiting for the '35 to die to have the excuse of I just needed a new player, but that didn't work out. )

Anyway, may go ahead and watch IV V VI on it this weekend as well, if I have the time. Or more likely I'll be wise and just go with the Oppo for the rest of the discs.

Who is saying Panasonic 35 is a garbage he is totally wrong and disagree with him,Anyway let's back to topic maybe is not an issue with the discs if they are working on other players,i do think an issue with the firmware maybe a new version will be online very soon.My Panasonic player is working wonderful with every disc i throw in except for its slow at disc start up,wish i have my complete saga maybe will answer you very soon i promise .Anyway last BD watched on it was Fast Five and what can i say about AQ just exceptional hard to beat.A demo disk all the way.

He was trying to arrest Palpsee and simply holding his saber in such a way as to deflect the laser bolts back at Papsee. Pulpsuh could have stopped at any point but I guess he really needed a new face so he kept shooting himself with electric shockees.

You might want to watch the movies again since you weren't paying attention. It's outright stated to be the case.

And even if it wasn't, do people really need everything spelled out for them? They clearly didn't for the OT films.

Guess we really do need a little animated Lucas popping up every scene to explain things for those who don't pay attention.

are the transfers perfect? no. are the movies perfect? no. do i love this set? hell frickin yes.

watched episode 3 for the second time, and it just gets better and better. watching ep. 4 gave me goose bumps. it was like watching it for the first time.

the transfer of ep 6 started amazing, but once on endor it looked like they used a different film stock. regardless, so thrilled with these.
