My apologies - I'm not talking about the Blu-ray. Just the cinematography of the films in general.

No argument there, the anamorphic lensing alone is a visual link back to the OT and gives it that classic widescreen movie 'look'. But when it gets ****ed up like that for Blu-ray it's kinda hard to overlook all the processing, which is why Sith has the best home video PQ of the prequels by far.

On that note, I definitely agree.

One thing's for sure:

AOTC is the absolute worst looking Star Wars movie.

Yes, but it's got Natalie Portman in that black corset.

That makes up for a lot.

Yeah, but then she goes and opens her mouth to deliver gems like "We live in a real world, come back to it". Yikes.

I'm sorry, I was never aware that there was even anybody speaking in that scene.

Hmm, learn something new every day...

Her dialogue is tame in comparison to some of the stuff that Hayden Christensen says in the movie.

I mean really.

Were we honestly expected to believe that this is the same guy who would go on to become Darth Vader?

If Anakin become Vader in his twenties (Sith) and Luke/Leia are born then, how old is Luke/Leia supposed to be by Jedi?

Cause when he takes off the helmut, Vader looks like he's 60-ish. And in the original Jedi Ghost image.

Does 40 years go by between Sith and Jedi? Cause Leia/Luke look like early 30 somethings.

I guess a young 30 something Obi-Won (Sith) is in his late 60's/early 70s by Star Wars?

It doesn't make logical sense. And I, for one, don't need it to. It just needs to make emotional sense and I think the transition does. Phantom Menace probably doesn't if I'm being honest, but I will take that and the slower parts of Clones to get to Sith- it actually felt like Lucas was firing on all cylinders to me and felt the most like the OT to me, too.

I probably am not going to do myself any favors around here by bringing up The Hobbit- flawed movies that I also love- but I have no problem with the Martin Freeman/Ian Holm transition, because it manages to make emotional sense.

For the love of god, the last thing we need in here is to incite a franchise war.

Well, worst would imply it's bad, which I don't really think it is (IMO of course). Sure, a lot of that might have to do with simple nostalgia, since I grew up watching the PT, but it's not terrible. But it is the weakest by far.

Anakin (Phantom) - 9
Anakin (Clones) - 19
Anakin (Sith) - 22

Luke (Hope) - 18
Luke (Empire) - 21
Luke (Jedi) - 21/22/23/24

I personally find it had to believe that there is only 6 months between Jedi and Empire...

Four years between SW and ESB, one year between ESB and ROJ.

And before the PT, Anakin was originally intended to older (and given and earlier DOB in 80s and early 90s EU), but making Anakin a young boy and casting Ewan McGregor as Obi-wan put an end to that.
