Basically, pre-Special Edition version of the scene....which is pretty much how I'd thought it would be.
No, it is not the pre-special edition of the scene.

Did you take the time to look at any "pre-special edition" VHS tapes or Laserdiscs before making that statement?

I've watched both my 1990, 1992 and 1995 VHS tapes of the scene, and I can say that the saber is bright blue in all three versions. Not even close to the green/aqua/white whatever you want to call it that we've seen from the blu rip.

It's not a big deal. It is the same with every movie released on Bluray or DVD.

There are so many stages in the production and distribution process (not to mention review and check copies etc) that every single Bluray or DVD ends up online at least 2-4 weeks before retail.

It happens with every movie so there is nothing that LFL can do above what is already being done. The only way to stop it is to not release the product.

I'm sure it's been more fun waiting for these discs than the actual experience of viewing them will be. It already seems like the fanboys are getting served a big bag of disappointment

Eh. There's always disappointment for every release. So far there's nothing that really bugs me.

If these are the final encodes for the Blu-ray, and not either an earlier version or a "Lucasfilm plant" then so be it.

While I would have preferred the Saber color on the Falcon to be recolored blue, at least it's back to the original white, rather than teal.

At least it's not Yellow like the original action figure from back then. And regardless, I'll still wait for the actual Blu and judge it for myself.

Sounds more like denial to me to be honest. I'm starting to wonder if some of you unrelenting deniers/apologists are affiliated to Lucasfilm in some way. Any of you guys called George Lucas?

Joking aside, the evidence is very one-sided at this point, there's really no point in continuing to deny it. Those 720p screencaps from the OT blu-ray rips are clearly authentic and accurately depict what we will be getting on blu-ray, at least as far as colours are concerned.

Guys like you denied that the early LOTR EE blu-ray rips were authentic as well , with the green tint all over FOTR EE, they were also released by CHDBits, and you all ended up being wrong. You'd have thought you'd have learnt your lesson by now. The only ones looking like fools here are you guys...

Do you not think Lucasfilm has learned their lesson when the 2004 rips were leaked.
Are you new to Blu-ray? Rips to every movie now released on BR are available for download weeks before street, don't like it? Tough thats life.

Default Return of the Jedi new ending song

This post was from a while back but I am assuming and hoping that people are correct that the original vocal music ending for ROTJ "Ewok Celebration" (informally "Yub Nub") is still removed from the film and that the 1997 "Victory Celebration" orchestral piece is still intact. Like others, I have a goofy soft spot for that ridiculous song, and rewatched the original on LD only recently to relive that experience. But I was relieved to see it gone with the Special Editions (1997). That was a great improvement and more appropriate. Imagine, the saga ends with Ewoks singing Yub Nub?

It's interesting that most people remember it as the Yub Nub song. For me the refrain that always stuck in my mind was (what I had remebered as) "halelu-fa-lah" (allay loo ta nuv, actually). I always assumed the composer was barely disguising actual words, like he seemed to be doing with other things like "peechee keene" in the same song.

Isn't this the song that John William's son helped to create? Or is that something else?

OH! Back to the disaster that was Lord Of The Ring are we now as example? You mean how for 2 months before the release it was post after post of how horrible it was and how green it was? How screen shots were so green everyone was looking like the Hulk? Yet while there is a green tin in the release it's nowhere AS HORRIFIC as so many spend their time claiming it was. But that is all forgotten now, all that matters was not that they kept saying ITS SO GREEN I CANT WATCH IT, no now it's I told you there was green

Move to this thread and yes we have the exact same stuff going on, ITS HORRIBLE, MY LIFE IS OVER, I WANT TO KILL LUCAS ..... Funny thing is it's almost the same posters from thread to thread, always months in advance and how horrible its going to look and with screenshots that may or may not be real and may have been played with by nerds on the Internet. It's like they are trying to convince themselves it's going to be horrible. Most of us are not in denial as you say, most of us just like to remain calm and just watch the Blu-ray when it's going to come out and talk about the news of the release, not worry to much about screeshots made by some wannabe films editor on the Internet. Look you want to believe it's horrible, please go right on but we can also go right on and believe all is for the best. It's only two different way of looking at the world, one side think everything is horrible and one side things everything is alright and somewhere in the middle is the truth.

They should have dubbed the LOTR box set the How Green Was My Valley Edition.

Maybe they'll dub the SW Saga the Not Ready for Prime Time Editions.

You could put the "Chicken Dance" over that scene and I wouldn't care. Dancing Ewoks and droids. Everyone hugging while having a jubilant marshmallow roast. It's one of the cheesiest scenes in the Star Wars series.

Listen, you... I am tired of you making sense here. This is Star Wars we're talking about!

Nope and it won't be this time either.

These leaks of blu-ray rips 1 or 2 weeks before the blu-ray's release day are commonplace and none have been taken down as far as i'm aware. I don't see why it'd be different with this release.

The only bad part is watching Lando trying to clap along, with no rhythm whatsoever.

For the smoothest man in the galaxy, he sure doesn't look smooth there.
