Horrible. Absolutely horrible. If Lucas wanted to make people forget about Greedo shooting first, he succeeded on epic levels. Worst Special Edition change by far. However, it will be highly entertaining to hear Lucas apologists rationalize why this change is for the "better" and how much they "love" this God-awful change.

So it's now official...George Lucas is no longer a filmmaker but a hack.
I know that in the grand scheme of things it's just a film, but I'm flabbergasted at how GL could casually, deliberately, destroy his own legacy.

ROTS: Anakin (when Mace tries to Kill Palps)
Vader (learns of Padme's death)

ANH: Luke (at Obi-Wan's death)

ESB: Luke (I am your father)

ROTJ: Vader (redemption)

People don't read a reviewing hoping it's from someone who read things about a product on an internet forum. They go to internet forums for that. I have to agree, reviews are for people who actually...you know..review the product.

It's one of the reasons I ignore most reviews on there now is because of over zealous fans or haters trying to "educate" people about things they have never laid their hands/eyes on.

But I do understand it's cathartic release for people emotional about these films and feel they need to hurt the product somehow, as it has clearly hurt them.

They will rationalize it by saying that Vader has come "full circle". When he first donned the mask and did the Frankenstein walk and found out about Padme, his reaction was the famous "Nooooo!" Then he lost all emotion until the end of RotJ where he says "Nooooo!" showing he cares again. Full circle - just brilliant thematic work here. What utter stupidity.

I'm sure it was a sound clip from TPM, but still, I believe that was a No.

The pod lid is now grey, but the colouring throughout all 3 movies is the same as 2004. R2's dome is still oversaturated and lobstermen are still there also. The time spent on the video side of things for the OT is about 3 weeks work MAX. They HAVEN'T touched any of the lightsabres in ANH apart from the 1 falcon sabre shot, none have been touched in ESB and only a few in ROTJ including the crossed sabres.

100% total agreement. I can take the Greedo shooting first, but changing the most pivotal part of the entire series just killed me, to me having Vader say nothing, but take the action of saving his son was the most emotional part of the entire series. "Action Speak Louder Than Words" I'll keep my 2004 Edition DVDs.

Personally i think this is all marketing, bad marketing but still marketing. I saw this on the news and my grandpa said "star wars is on blu ray?" So this is actually belive it or not getting more pl involved then before. Wait till everyone knows and thrn Lucas will come out and say its fake. Any leaks is impossible trust me if Lucas was that dumb TPM would have been leaked long before it hit theaters.
So we need to hide R2 behind more rocks so it makes the situation more believable? But are the sandpeople deaf? Do they not hear R2? Are his beeps and whistles washed out by the music?

This is starting to make me anxious about LOTR.

I can just imagine it now, 2014 Jackson releases the Ultimate box set of all 5 movies and he goes back to the LOTR movies and changes things so that they match the Hobbit. For example maybe using the new young Bilbo in the scene at the start of FOTR when he finds the ring instead of Ian Holm or maybe "fixing" Gollum so that he looks like he will in The Hobbit.

You heard it here first folks.

Ok, looks like I mentioned an unmentionable, nevertheless, I won't be buying these. The real, original films will eventually get an official high def release, and I can wait.
