With this, it's put up or shut up time for the fanbase. People have been washing their hands of Star Wars for years, only to come back to the ranks.

Is this the line in the sand?

So it's true. Really, really true.

Frak off, George.

I'm finally, at long last, joining the Unaltered Original Trilogy Camp.

Oh! Thank the maker!
Now we can stop the bickering on the legitimacy of the leak. Now, where were we on Artoo's rock dilemma? How did he get in? Or more importantly, why didn't they add a scene where he uses explosives to get out!?

Personally i think this is all marketing, bad marketing but still marketing. I saw this on the news and my grandpa said "star wars is on blu ray?" So this is actually belive it or not getting more pl involved then before. Wait till everyone knows and thrn Lucas will come out and say its fake. Any leaks is impossible trust me if Lucas was that dumb TPM would have been leaked long before it hit theaters.

While the changes annoy me to no extent, I will still be buying Star Wars on Blu-ray.

I'll wait for the reviews. If the deleted scenes end up being much ado about nothing, I may pass on this. I honestly don't see myself ever watching these movies beginning to end on Blu-ray.

I can always pick up a copy of the set a year from now when one of those crazy sales show up where it's only 40 or 50 bucks.

I will not be buying this. I was ok with the SE, I was ok with the prequels, but this is the best moment of all of the saga. Oh well, dvd's will do fine for a while....

Although there's an argument as to how he got in there, the same could be said before the vhange as theres a slope of rocks leading to the gap. So he couldn't have rolled up there.

Absolute stupidity.

Because it's clear that the Blu-rays are going to be inferior and people on that site who read the reviews need to know that before wasting their hard earned cash on the product. Sorry your denial doesn't allow you to see that.

I feel a bit like an odd man out. I dislike most of the obvious structural changes everyone seems to complain about. But like some of the minor fixes.

But overall I'm just not "emotional" about it. There's still so much of my childhood left in those films that I will still buy them. I'm not sure where my line in the sand is, but it must be far away yet.

So yeah, I'm in the middle. and my head is hurting from the extreme hyperbole of both the pro and anti Lucas crowds. But yet I still read these places. Maybe I'm a glutton for self punishment?

So yeah I can't defend these changes. There's no real defense in my mind. But I still enjoy the films enough to buy them. In fact I'm a little giddy about some of the bonus features even. I know there's a camp for me, but we're just not the vocal camp I guess.

Sorry for the slightly off-topic question but...

Can someone point me to a resource that outlines the different releases over the years with the changes in each release?

Thanks

The real challenge for people on the fence is when Best Buy and Target put out their ad and the price of the set is 20 dollars cheaper than Amazon.

How do you react then?
