We'll also listen to things and make a fuss.

To me at least it doesn't look like the same door when Luke comes through the entrance.

I normally hate the term 'wax' when related to Blu-rays, but TPM is unbelievably DNRed. I can't believe they think that looks good.

Except for the fact that the door is 100' long on the outside shot and only 30' wide from the inside. How does that not create a stupid continuity error?

Please quit making excuses for these changes when they are stupid! I don't have a problem with the change, but you need to change everything. Kind of reminds me of Luke's lightsaber "fix". Let's fix a couple of frames to show the public a pre release and then not touch another lightsaber for the entire scene!

There is a difference between being suitable for kids and being meant for kids.

Quote:
It wasn't spewing; the blood was on the floor because it was cut from the body. There was no dripping or pooling of it, and Lucas has even gone so far in the years since, to say that a lightsaber cauterizes a wound, so as to stop bleeding.
I'm sorry, there seems to be a massive difference between a pool of blood and it spewing He never removed the shot from the original film either

I respectfully disagree. The responsibility should be split evenly, between both filmmakers and parents.
No, it is not the filmmakers job. It is the parents job to understand the ratings better and to understand what they are taking their kid too. Which clearly you DON'T.

You assume that all films PG and G, no matter the year they came out, are family films. They aren't. Not all of them.

Look at what the ratings mean.

G- All Ages Admitted. It doesn't say for kids only.

Here is a lit of films rated G but NOT kids films:

-Airport
-Planet of the Apes (by the way, features nudity)
-Beneath the Planet of the Apes (features perhaps the most downbeat ending I could image)
-Escape From the Planet of the Apes (very downbeat ending as well)
-Tora! Tora! Tora! (a war movie)
-The Green Berets (another war movie)
-The Odd Couple
-True Grit (the original)
-Star Trek: The Motion Picture
-Dracula Has Risen From the Grave (a horror film)
-Battle For Britain (another war movie)

And...

2001: A Space Odyssey

Kids can watch them. But kids can also watch The Dark Knight.

PG was home to many horror films (including Jaws and Poltergeist), action films, disaster flicks, etc. Many of them probably can't be considered suitable by children by a lot of more uptight parents.

Maybe they will add another- "Nooo! NOOOoooOOO!!!!!" right when the Falcon escapes from the hanger on Hoth.

That could be a great place to place it also.

People just need to give Yoda a break, he's been talking to snakes and lizards for twenty years.

He'll get there in-time for the next Blu-ray release....

We must have a differing definition of "funny".

I can certainly understand why a change (I would argue a stupid change) to the climactic scene of the movie (and, in fact, the entire film series) would cause some people to skip the release.

And someone skipping the release is doing it for personal reasons. They don't want the set, so they're not buying it. I hardly think that anyone out there thinks that it's going to have any impact on the popularity of it on Amazon or elsewhere.

Obviously, this is going to be popular and sell like pancakes. I'm missing the "funny" here.

I heard that they added the word "WIZARD" into TESB i think Luke says it while they are circling the AT-AT'S.

For something thats been DNR'd, that actually looks very impressive. Much better than the HDTV transfer. Whats really impressive is the amount of detail that they've been able to retain. Obviously a non DNR'd picture is going to look better, as detail isn't lost, but even so I'm pleased with the result so far...although things may change when I see TPM in motion.

I would face palm @ this one, but it turns out i just don't care how much crap has been thrown on these blu-ray's. Will never buy, no matter how cheap they get. I don't think my wife would even let me watch them if they were given to me as a gift, seeing as actually watching them would probably cause an aneurysm or at least severe bruising to my forehead from all the facepalms.

I think it's hilarious that people would seriously "boycott" the entire 6-movie saga over a word. Maybe we just have different senses of humor.

Question:

1) What if Lucas does release THE UOT on Blu and it is shoddy how would you feel then and his comment would probably be: "This is the reason why i did not want to release these versions cause the negatives where bad BUT NOOO you pushed me into a corner deal with it.

Lucas than proceeds to get up roll his eyes and walks out of the room.

First: Do people actually OWN the sets yet?

Second: Are the "nips" still visible in Episode 1: The Phantom Menace
