The worst part of the release date being tomorrow is that tonight would be perfect for watching Star Wars. I have literally NOTHING to do tonight. No kids, the wife is working, caught up on all my work at my job...

I will buy the set tomorrow morning, but probably won't get to watch much of it, as this weekend is booked from Friday night onwards.

My Amazon order is still in the 'request cancelation' phase. I am so panicking right now since the order is not showing 'shipping soon'. I am going to sit on the porch....alllll the rest of the day and night and into tomorrow.... and wait for the UPS dude to show up...

I am just beside myself with all this waiting. I just dont know how I am going to get by these next 24 hours. Oh the pain...oh the pain

The wolfman was a leftover from another film apparently, so I can understand why George wanted to replace that with something original.

Same here buddy. My girlfriends brother is flying up to Eugene tomorrow to stay the weekend as he has always wanted to see a Ducks football game at Autzen, so we'll be entertaining all weekend. He has no real interest in the films, so i'll be waiting until next week to watch them all.

Not that i mind, hugely excited for him coming up. Just bad timing for a release date

This is taking forever. I been checking my e-mail all day and I have not gotten a shipment confirmation from amazon. However, on the website, it says, shipping soon and the estimated delivery date is the 16th. You better hurry, Amazon.

Default Hitting Wal-Mart after all....

If the last few pages of posts have served no other purpose, they've reminded me that I'm too impatient to order something release date from Amazon. I preordered in January as soon as it was announced, then went through the whole "September 27th deal" and finally decided to cancel my order and hit Wal-Mart at midnight.

Lately I haven't been getting UPS delivered to my house earlier than 1PM, and having the day off tomorrow, I don't want to wait that long.

It seems to go that if something unexplainable can go wrong, it will happen to me, so the fact my order still said "Shipping Soon" sealed the deal....

Changes or not, I'm not waiting for the bargain to be altered this time...

I ordered from Ebay last Sunday, and got the Blu's yesterday. Already watched TPM and AOTC, half way through ROTS. I am very, very pleased with the with PQ & AQ.

I was only going to be able to watch a little due to family being in town this weekend, but now...

I'm happy to wait till Monday when they head out. Finally found a reasonable price on a subwoofer I want on Craigslist. I've been 5.0 for the past 2 years. The audio review made my widen my search so I'll be christening my full set-up with this on Monday after I pick up the new addition. And hopefully won't be waking my 6 month old!

Some of you shouldn't feel bad. Mine was shipped yesterday on the 14th, and FedEx says estimated delivery is the 17th, even though Amazon still says the 16th. Bah.

Well, I got mine in today, and I've just seen the Phantom Menace.

Average transfer, but I'm happy. Can't wait to get to the originals!

It truly was a collaborative effort to get that first film made. I think George's issue is that he didn't have complete control over that film and it's driven him crazy. Yes, the creatures in the cantina look like they came from a bad costume shop, but I think that's part of the charm. Which creatures did he replace for the special edition?
Dykstra's firing had nothing to do with the quality of the work, it had to do with Dykstra being out of control and not getting work done when it was needed. The production was massively behind schedule due to Dykstra allowing ILM to become more of a frat house than an effects facility. There is the famous story about Dykstra lifting a fridge up with a crane and dropping it on the ground repeatedly just when Fox execs showed up to check on ILMs progress.

Eventually Lucas and Kurtz had to personally supervise the work. By the end of 76 Dykstra was basically frozen out of the production and Dennis Muren and Richard Egland were put in charge of ILM operations.

El Jay , I could not agree more . So anyone who dose not like Lucas changing his films is WRONG. lol That should get the ball rolling j/k

Me too. I am alone tonight and tomorrow. The fiance is supposedly watching her niece or having an affair.

But I thought it was the perfect time to start tonight, and finish tomorrow.

Wowzers. I knew people were pissed, but yikes, that's only going to get worse.

I do feel for fans that don't like the changes though, I personally think blu-ray was meant to give us the ability to watch a film the way it was originally meant to be viewed, without change. I mean what if the chariots from Ben Hur got some sort of CG treatment? That'd be insanity. I think the same goes for any movie really.

Ken is too excited for the blu ray release of the Star Wars saga on September 16 to even say it!

Been a fun few months, folks. Enjoy your sets.
