IGN has been a shill site for quite some time now IMO. Gamespot was getting bad for a while after they canned half their old staff (who went on to make Giant Bomb), but they have regained some credibility in the last year or two.

Yea, I learned that from reading their PC review of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 back in 2009. 95% WTF?!

I deleted that site out of my favorites right after reading that sell-out advertisement.

The viewer should be given enough credit to be able to gather what the characters motivation is without him screaming out the word "NOOOO!"

Look at how many times the camera shows Vader looking left to right, back and forth at The Emperor and Luke. It was already extremely obvious because of how it was shot. There really was no need to do that.

But obviously, horses for courses...
Whats funny about this is that i saw it on HBO or Starz and i walked out of the room for all of 3 seconds...
I missed the part where we see who kills him, I, for years, always thought it was the wife that killed him....

Jedi Rocks: utter crap. Doesn't fit the scene, doesn't fit the universe. It just doesn't fit. Period.

New song at end of Return of the Jedi replacing Nyub Nyub: utter crap. For the same reasons as with Jedi Rocks.

Hayden ghost: Unnecessary and disrespectful of Shaw.

Obi Wan scream: Unnecessary and ridiculous.

Han vs. Greedo: Unnecessary and realized with a bad CGI animation. It's okay in its tweaked version, though. They almost shoot at the same team and considering the usual human reaction time of 1 second Han shoots Greedo before he even could have realized that Greedo shot at him as well.

Darth Noooooo!: Unnecessary and with bad voice acting, which makes a dramatic and iconic scene unintentionally funny.

R2-D2 hiding behind CGI rocks: Unnecessary and creating a continuity error with subsequent shots where the rocks are gone again. Not to mention that R2 couldn't have squeezed himself into that hole.

A New Hope Jabba: Unnecessary and redundant, because they are bascially having the same dialogue again that Han and Greedo had only minutes before.

Lightsaber colors: I like the restoration of the white cores in Jedi, but I don't mind the inconsistencies in Hope too much. The pink light saber in Empire even makes a bit of sense: red light saber + blue smoke/ambient light = pink.

Blinking Ewoks: An actual improvement. Looks good.

Phantom Menace CGI Yoda: Since the puppet was atrocious and didn't look anything like Yoda: excellent change.

A New Hope Stormtrooper "bonk sound" when he hits the head: I like it. It's pretty funny and also explains why they leave that trooper behind to guard some harmless droids. Also I like how they mirrored that bonk in Clones when Jango hits his head on the door of Slave One, suggesting that this particular storm trooper might actually be a Jango clone.

Also let me add:

Bigger door at Jabbas Palast: Unnecessary and combined with a very unnatural digital zoom downright distracting. Also, it creates another continuity error that wasn't there before.
agreed on all points.

Today, I went ahead and ordered the Prequel Trilogy set for $23.98 new on Amazon under a 3rd party merchant which is an extremely cheap price for a new release. While I know most people hate the Prequel Trilogy, I personally like it and thanks to the prequel trilogy, I was introduced to the world of Star Wars ( I was born in '92). Luckily, I got a chance to see Episode 3 in the theatres which was awesome, however I would love to see the unalterated Episodes 4-6 on the big screen. I don't really mind most of the changes, I like most of them, however if Lucas doesn't release the unalterated version, then I won't buy the original trilogy set.

If you scan around during the Jabba scene, you'll see 2 or 3 Greedos in basically the exact same clothes/colors.

Must be a very 'in' style for Rodians.

I like how Kershna hints that R2 might have used his Rockets to get away from the swamp beast in the archival commentary

He gets spat out, but I guess they can change it in a future release to fit it into the PT

Something doesn't make sense here...

$25 isn't bad for the prequel trilogy though. Nice

If one assumes the rockets are still functioning all those years later and after being partially digested.

The dude has I believe 2-5 lines in the OT, I doubt it really matters to anyone but his rabid fans. Have to say, I don't think I've ever wanted a studio to issue a quality repackaging for a release more than I do for this one. Wish I had their contact info.

Oh, it doesn't bother me, just that I'd never noticed it until I read about it. And to be honest it's barely any diferent.

Thor sells more discs, but Star Wars: The Complete Saga generates more revenue (vs Thor's Blu-ray + DVD sales).

Jason Wingreen.

Bulloch was just the guy in the suit, much like JEJ and David Prowse for Vader.

But Jason Wingreen's paced delivery and menace in the simple three lines of "As you wish" is >>>>>>>>>>>>> to Temuera Morrison's.

Intresting. I guess a film that costs a hell of a lot less than the Complete Saga will sell more units. But obviously the set that costs more can make more revenue even with lower sales.

And the higher price was always goig to be a hurdle in terms of units sold. I think it did pretty well considering the price.
