This was the biggest disappointment for me. I assumed it was obviously included in the BD-collection. I had already sold the DVD-set and started looking for it in the Blu-ray extras and was in shock to notice it wasn't included.

On the plus side, you can find that bonus disc for only a few bucks on eBay.

I haven't bought it, and won't. I hate the changes made.

Is this what you're referring to?

Of course it did.

Do we really need a thread about this...it's been discussed ad nauseam in the main SW thread. Perhaps the Mods could merge?

Not at all... Luke and Han went to Kashyk to visit Chewie's family on Life Day, remember?

Yeah and this is just one of the many screw ups. This whole set is a huge fail. I own it, but when it's time to watch Star Wars I revert to Harmy's editions.

That one disc is pretty much the only good thing about owning the 2004 DVD set. I was horrified when I saw Hayden Christensen at the end of Return of the Jedi instead of David Prowse.

David Prowse was horrified when he saw Sebastian Shaw at the end of Jedi instead of himself.

Oh crap you're right. I forget the guy in the suit and the ghost were played by two different people. I feel ashamed.

Either way, the horrifying part was that Lucas screwed up how death works. Anakin reverted to his younger self, but Obi-wan stayed an old man. (Not that I wanted Obi-wan changed, I didn't want either changed)

It's not like he hated the theatrical cuts and couldn't release them, it's more like he slapped the films together in the 70s and 80s, said "okay that'll have to do, I guess." So there were always small changes he wanted to make (like adding in Jabba, more shots of the Wampa, having all 30 X-Wings on the screen, etc).

All that being said, the problem here is that the films weren't really "broke" to begin with, so he didn't need to fix them. Also, a lot of this may have just been to get the hype going for the prequels.

What fresh heck is this?

As far as I know, the Wookies were never exterminated; they were enslaved by the Empire. The Expanded Universe is still full of Wookies. We never saw the resolution of the battle in ROTS, but I think in the end the Empire would have prevailed and occupied the planet for the rest of the saga.

However, a more well-informed fan might know more than I on the matter.

I sold my DVDs out of that set and replaced them with the ones that contain the original version DVDs, but I kept that 4th disk.

Three, technically; Bob Anderson did most of Vader's sword choreography in ESB and RotJ.

Well if you want to get technical, it really is four including James Earl Jones.

Sure it will be. I still get a bad feeling that we will be disappointed next year and will still refer to Star Wars as 6 films

aren't there really like 5 or more people who played Vader - the 3 mentioned, Hayden at the end and then any pickup shots they did for the special edition? I don't remember but I know they pick up a couple shots of Boba Fett so I imagine Vader had a couple too. Plus James Earl Jones!

And don't forget the voice of Vader, James Earl Jones!

Takes a lot of people to make a legendary villian I guess...

I will watch anything with Star Wars in the title. But I get the feeling that everything from now on will just feel like glorified fan fiction.

For better or for worse, this was George's baby.
