What if George put something in there when he sold to Disney that they would have to alter future releases (7,8,9,etc) of the saga so fans of those will not feel left out on the whole "Lucas raped my childhood" thing. Could you actually imagine some Star Wars movies that are the same on home video as the theatrical releases?

well when it comes to it i will upgrade to the new format but this time i won't make the mistake by selling all of them all at once and rebuild slowly like i did with the dvds, sold practically all of mine then upgraded to bluray.

Lol, wouldn't surprise me, does anyone know if george even released why he did this to the originals. I know he likes his alterations but what was the real reason. If he didn't like the original theatrical cuts why did he release them to theaters in the first place then. I really wanna know what the hell was the big deal with this.

I was fine with what we got on the Blu-Rays, but as Al_The_Strange said, I knew what we were getting. It would have been ideal if everything from the DVDs had been ported over, so I could have just kept the Blu-Ray set, however. Hopefully the inevitable Disney release of the entire series does this (along with including the different cuts of the films).

yeah but when disney releases them it'll probably be 3x as much for this complete saga and probably the same stuff on it.

Not at all.

I've shared this sentiment before, but I can't help but feel that if Fox was in charge instead of Lucasfilm, we would have received a set more in line with their Alien Anthology in terms of completion and comprehensiveness.

While the Vader "NOOO!!" is what ultimately made me cancel my preorder, the biggest "slap in the face" to me as a fan was the claim of three passes of quality control at their pre-release press event--a baldfaced lie--which in reality amounted to barely a handful of trivial fixes (one which they didn't even catch until a fan pointed it out at their SDCC display!).

Well said. Alien Anthology was so comprehensive. And we got both theatrical and director's cuts in that set. Where was the documentary covering the whole SW film series?

I think the point of this thread is to put the internet in a jar and shake it.

........So which version of Predator is better, the 2008 release or the Ultimate Hunter Edition?

But the one thing that Lucas never did fix which was the biggest complaint he had was that the ending to Return of the Jedi was to have
[Show spoiler]the final battle with Wookies and not Ewoks. Something about it being too expensive or something like that. Well, when digital came along I think the first thing that I would have done was paste over those Ewoks. I mean, if he can replace actor`s heads and stuff and add Jabba where he was not, then he can replace some Ewoks.

True but wasn't Chewie basically the only Wookie that was alive anymore didn't the clones wipe them out with the rest of the jedi in revenge of the sith?

I don't think he had a choice. I mean Fox owns the first outright I believe so they pretty much say if it gets released. I think it's just a matter of "It's the best I can do right now and I put so much money into this I need to make back."

Mind you I could be wrong.

i feel that the director should have more right of how the movies are released then the people that supposively "Owns" them, and for something of being this popular film and a well known director i would feel that he would have alot more then a leg to stand on against things like that.

I haven't bought it because I want to see the original versions on Blu-Ray. I don't like the changes. I might buy it if I see it somewhere in really cheap price but not otherwise. I also don't like how they changed the colors but didn't notice that it affected the lightsabers. Now Vader's lightsaber looks like pink:

I am thinking back on interviews that were done around and a few years after Return; before he began work on the new trilogy. In a lot of those interviews he stated that originally the battle took place on Wookie`s home planet. Well, that never happened. But, it did end up in Revenge. So, at the time Return was released, the Wookies were still alive and well; or so it seems.

well in revenge all we know was that chewie and a few of his kind was with him and put yoda on the aircraft doesn't know if they actually survived the attack except chewie himself, all others could've been killed. The planet in that case was infested by droids and clones that were both against the jedi and people that were supporting the jedi order.

why use spoiler tags this film has been out for 9yrs, its not like its a brand new film, for people to not have watched it yet. It was shown. Basically all what was shown the pictures of the pink lightsaber and the NOOO comment should be a spoiler as well because its considered shown and heard in the blu-ray release right?

Use spoiler tags for all movies on this site when you are revealing a plot point. It's simple courtesy. And it's free!

Yes. Very much. I would have preferred they include the previous features from the DVD's, but other than that I'm happy with the set.
