Would people rather see the originals or special editions in 3D? I mostly prefer the oroginal cuts, but I think I would rather see the SEs get a 3D treatment.

The SEs would probably work better for 3D and could be one reason why the 2Ds get (or have already gotten) remastered as the SE/2011 version. I would really to know what Radiance did exactly on these for 2012 (as all of us would) unless even more or different work has taken place since.

They've already released the SE, as far as I care. All they need to put out is the UOT, which just needs a 3-4 disc set at most.

For the record, I would like the original versions as well on Blu-ray, as well as a new restoration and remastering of the final special editions. I will always vastly prefer the final special editions, but I would like the theatrical versions because...it's Star Wars. But at the same time, it's not something I'm dying to own because I already have my preferred versions and the versions that the artist prefers on Blu-ray.

I wouldn't mind the 1997 versions as well.

Just lightening up the mood. Seems like a lot of angst in here.

Since when are there different cuts to the prequels? A TPM 2001 edition, 2011, and 2015? Huh? All three prequels have had no alterations to them.

There are some tweaks in the prequels at different releases.

The biggest one was this:

Wikipedia says there are other things, mostly minor...

Episode I: The Phantom Menace

A new blurring effect is used when Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn use Force Speed to escape the droidekas.

The medium shot of Nute Gunray and Rune Haako observing Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan escaping the droidekas is replaced with a long shot.

In a scene with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan discussing Anakin's fate on Coruscant, the sun was brightened from orange to white.

Episode II: Attack of the Clones

During the chase on Coruscant, when Anakin and Obi-Wan pass through the power couplings, several shots are rearranged.

During Anakin's nightmare scene, a voiceover of his mother Shmi is added.

After Yoda saves Obi-Wan and Anakin from Count Dooku's falling pillar, the reaction shots of Yoda and then Anakin and Obi-Wan are moved to before the shots of Dooku escaping on his ship and Padmé Amidala and the clonetroopers arriving and firing at him.

Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

The scene in which Obi-Wan encounters General Grievous on Utapau and the Clone Army arrives is altered, adding dialogue from the troopers as they land on platform.

The transition from Padmé's ship to Vader on Mustafar is changed from a straight cut back to a wipe, restoring the original theatrical release.

I have him blocked... lol...
The Phantom Menace:
VHS was the Theatrical.
DVD was Extended Cut. (One Scene - Flying through Coruscant)
DVD had Pink Shift

Attack of the Clones:
Yoda's Line at the end: "Begun this Clone War has." vs "Begun the Clone War has."
Obi-Wan's line to Anakin "Good Job" was different in the other version of the film as well.

Revenge of the Sith:
Extra Clone Troopers standing around while Obi-Wan it talking next to his StarFighter.
DVD had different "wipes" from the Theatrical, the Blu-Ray returned them to what was in the Cinema.

Wow, this is the first time I have ever heard about any alterations. However, it sounds like they are very minimal and make sense.

There was also a line change in Attack of the Clones after Anakin told Padme he slaughtered the sand people.

On the Blu-Ray?
I haven't watched them yet, so any of the big Blu-Ray changes, unless they were posted when the set came out, I won't know about.

TPM also has an extended podrace sequence on DVD. Also, sparks on Jango's jetpack were added to the DVD of AOTC

I find it quite appropriate that they used a PT-based image for the cover of this book...
