Personally I'd say Star Wars. Breaking Bad is a damn great show, but the original Star Wars trilogy is classic cinema and I feel they're more rewatchable. Sitting down to rewatch a series that ran for five seasons is quite the task and not something I personally would do as often as watching my favorite movies, not to mention Breaking Bad gets quite heavy at times while Star Wars is more lighthearted fun.

But of course this all comes down to personal preference and many would disagree with me no doubt. Ironically I actually own Breaking Bad but not the Star Wars saga, but that's just because I've been waiting to see if, when Disney release the unaltered original trilogy, if they're going to release a complete box set with everything from the current set plus the unaltered OT so I don't have to double dip.

I don't think that will ever happen. Which is why I have kept my 2007 limited edition DVD set that contain the original theatrical cuts.

He's arguing with all the voices in his head. Even they know he's just rationalizing

There's a strong rumor they're coming, so anyone who's been waiting for the original cuts would be insane to buy this existing set now.

IF it does indeed happen, wouldn't it be appropriate to release them around the time The Force Awakens comes out? Or wait for the 40th anniversary in 2017?

And if it is released, will it contain the same bonus features as the Complete Saga set or no?

The thought it late September. Isn't that pretty close to Dec?? Not too close, not too far, imo.

Like StingingVelvet said, it's rumored they're going to be released this year, in some form digital and/or physical. So, since I want them, it makes sense to wait and see what happens. I want the special editions and prequels too, but I need to see how they release the unaltered OT - if they do - and then decide how to go about things based on that.

Do they release the UOT just by itself? Then I'll get the UOT set plus the 2011 Complete Saga box set. Do they only release it digitally? Then I'll just get the Complete Saga set and be content with that. Do they release the unaltered + SE versions of the OT together but no prequels? Then I'll get that and pick up the separate prequel set to complement it.

I can do it any way, I just don't want to double dip needlessly so I'm waiting to see just what they have planned.

It's a website that always ships orders out early, weeks early. it's all in pounds so I can never justify paying the exchange rate with the msrp, but it would be worth it for this!!

What about the Sequel Trilogy (VII-IX) when that's finished? That won't be for another five or so years until that is complete. I'm sure there will be another box set containing all nine films.

I've been reading an old EU paperback and came across this:

What I don't get is Han saying he doesn't believe in The Force when Luke is training on the Falcon when earlier he clearly used it to duck a laser blast from two feet away. Out of everything in the entire saga that was the most Force like.

For better or worse, I imagine there will be a million different releases of Star Wars now. You'll have The original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, original cuts of the original trilogy, all of the films individually, the new trilogy, all nine films, extended versions of all nine films, the "original cast" set with Episodes IV - IX, and God knows what else. I'm being slightly sardonic, but I do expect them to milk the series and fanbase. But hey, if it means we do get restored original cuts, then milk away!

I think on the next special edition, Greedo's laser will just ricochet off the wall and fire right back at him, without Han having to shoot at all. I think he went to the Battle Droid Laser-Firing Academy.

I would love extended cuts of AOTC and ROTS featuring the Rebellion formation, Padme's family, and the extended Geonosis duel. But those have >1% chance of ever happening.

If they do, I hope it's in sequence in the theaters first starting in June so I can take my kids to see them at the rate of one a month leading up to the release. They've only seen them on the small screen at home. If not, then I hope they wait a while for 4K so I don't have to buy it yet again...

So, basically just keep doing what Lucasfilm has been doing already for decades.
