I want the new Logo to be of Jar Jar Binks dressed as Tinkerbell with wings flying around the Disney Logo.

That's what they want. They have to have something to complain about. So they'll be a lot of "yeah, we wanted the UOT, but they should have fixed this...." And if they release the UOT with something resembling the original 70mm mix, which if they really want it unaltered, that's what they should want, then the surrounds would be mono (and obviously no 7.1) since none of the original trilogy was released in 70mm split surround. People will freak out at that as well, even though they claim to want the UOT.

Man, the emotions these films cause in some people.

I'm not sure why a digital release got everyone so excited thinking that had anything to do with a new BD release period, let alone an original cuts BD release. I mean, I hope to god it happens, I don't even own these films on BD because I have been waiting and hoping for an original cuts release, but I'm not sure why anyone thinks this is linked to a streaming release.

Wait and see, as ever.

Yeah, people do love to complain, all right.

In fact, some people aren't content to complain about things that have already happened. Those people have to complain on spec about things that people might maybe do sometime down the road.

It takes all kinds, I guess.

The Fox fanfare appears on Big Momma's House and Dude Where's My Car. If you see it as something that is intrinsically linked to the Star Wars experience then you should probably watch more movies. And you should definitely get used to seeing Star Wars movies without it.

Well -- guess what? You think the Paramount logo on the Indiana Jones films would ever go away? Because Spielberg opens every single one of them with a dissolve from the Paramount "mountain" logo to a similar shape. Regardless of who has the rights to the films, that's NEVER going to change. That logo is never going away. It's part of history. Don't be too shocked if Disney bites the bullet and has Fox distribute the next trilogy, just for the sake of tradition and good will to the fan base.

I would actually be pretty cool with that. It would feel pretty weird to have a Star Wars movie open without the Fox fanfare.

Disney has literally no reason to partner with Fox on anything but including the original film alongside the rest of the movies and I guarantee they hate even cutting them in on that. As for the Paramount logo that's a non-issue since the first 4 films are still Paramount titles in the exact same way that the first Star Wars is a Fox title.

Star Wars ain't the same without the Fox logo and the fanfare. I'm not seeing the new Star Wars films by Disney but I would hope they do honor that tradition.

Color me skeptical with regard to Episode VII opening with the Fox fanfare but I totally get why people care. I cannot hear the Fox fanfare without immediately flashing to the Star Wars theme.

The two are inextricably linked and have been for decades.

This is how confident I am that the Fox Fanfare will be nowhere on The Force Awakens, any new Star Wars film or the rerelease of the three prequels and Empire And Jedi after 2020. If I am wrong I will actually watch George Lucas' abominations of the Special Editions and the Prequels again.

True, but for me it's not linked to just Star Wars but several other Fox classics too (including my favourite film, Die Hard), so I'm not as precious about it as some.

What people should consider is that although there'll be no Fox logo, it won't have a Disney logo either IF the Marvel movies are any indication. So when the movie starts, we'll get the Lucasfilm logo (possibly a rejigged version, who knows?) which will lead in to "A long time ago..." and then the title crawl, just like always.

Yeah, that's a good point. I don't it's going to open with 'When You Wish Upon a Star' (or whatever it even is these days) either.

And however it opens, mere seconds later John Williams' fanfare is going to be blaring in all its full-throated glory.

So life will definitely go on.

For Tron Legacy, they did a pretty badass Tron castle. I could see them doing something similar to set apart their SW films from all their other movies.

Hmmm....but what would be similarly badass and not too cutesy? They'd be better off just leaving out the Disney logo completely, and it wouldn't surprise me to see the LFL logo given a revamp to make it a bit more elaborate.

I've seen people debate whether it'll have a Disney logo or go right into a LucasFilm logo.

The best indicator so far is the Clone Wars: The Lost Mission release that has no obvious Disney branding. It has a small Disney Movie Rewards logo on it and follows the uniform style that all of their releases due but there's no Disney logo on the spine or anything.

Are you not seeing them because they won't have the Fox logo?

a) Fox and Marvel have some outstanding issues
b) Disney completed a buy out of Paramount's interests. http://variety.com/2013/film/news/di...nt-1200927216/

You're having a really hard time with this. The link YOU POSTED says on crystal-clear terms that Paramount retains the four existing Indy films.

Are you even aware that a studio can own a movie featuring intellectual property they don't own?
