Not to mention the heavy magenta push. TESB doesn't really have it but ANH & ROTJ do.

What I don't understand is why Disney hasn't released the real versions yet. What the hell are they waiting for? It's not like somebody actually respects what that anti-film, CGI-obsessed hack did.

I can't help it but I almost like Episode III the best. Such a good movie. I'm not saying it's objectively better than ANH or Empire, but it definitely gets the most rewatchability from me. George dun goofed with Phantom Menace, but he definitely redeemed himself by the end.

The pink saber annoys me too. How they didn't notice it?

Who is the "obsessed hack" you are referring to?

The nice round number of a 40th anniversary seems to be the prevailing theory at the moment...

Again, Hoth has been blue since 1980. It was not a SE color correction!

It's becoming less and less relevant as the unofficial releases get better. As of 2016 all three original movies are available somewhere from scans of 35mm prints. Quality varies (SW > ROTJ > ESB) but more and more whatever LF/Fox/Disney may even want to do becomes less relevant (though I'm sure no one would turn down a professional scan/encode of the original real movies from IP or better).

Sadly the same cannot be said for so many better movies that are stuck in as bad or worse shape as the 06 Star Wars DVDs. It sucks there's no determined fan group out there scanning a print of They Shoot Horses, Don't They? or Last Summer.

That image doesn't mean anything. It matters how it looks like in the movie.

I admit fully that I am not a big fan of the blue tint of all the masters, but let us not pretend that this is not going on all over with transfers.

For the sake of posterity I do believe ilthe original visions should be preserved, but the one question remains, which versions?

Even if it is more accurate I am going to be sad if someday a 4k remaster is released and Hoth looks more normal. My whole 36 years of life have been spent with super blue Hoth. I will have a sad.

If you've experienced super blue Hoth for 36 years, that would mean Hoth was always super blue, since Empire is 36 years old.

But you yourself said that your TV had a blue push.

The old commentaries would be nice.

I would bet that the release will be similar to TFA, as in the "Episode #" moniker will be dropped, and the packaging for any future releases of the classic SW films will be:

Star Wars: A New Hope
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

For the PT as well. It's just better branding/cleaner that having the cumbersome EPISODE # text.
