Oh give me a break pal. You've been trolling and ridiculing people who either don't like the prequels or the special edition changes for years now yourself.

Yes, The Crow did it long before Gladiator. Both examples used existing shots composited into one or two new scenes along with doubles seen from behind or whatever, so while they were still ground-breaking they've got nothing on the latest spate of CG resurrections.

You must be living in alternate universe then.

You people have been bashing the prequels the SE OT and Geoge Lucas mercilessly for ages now. I merely to bring balance to the force.

Not trying to be disrespectful, but I am kind of curious how the character will be handled. Personally I feel a recast would be the worst option, with an explanation via dialogue only being slightly less worse.

So that leaves the CGI option. As much as the SW fanbase has been divided over the use of CGI, I'm wondering how this would be received if used?

I feel bad even thinking about this now, as it seems selfish on some level, but I'm sure it's in the back of many a SW fans mind.

Obviously using CGI to compensate for the loss of an actor has worked over the year. I remember when I first dad about it being done for The Crow, and it didn't really hurt the film IMO.

Very curious as to how this will be handled and when that info will be made available.

Their best option is to have her ship dramatically destroyed on screen and so they can kill the character, but also do it "off screen." They will probably write this in to the end of Ep VIII.

Who's stopping you? Can't wait for the Episode I-IX 4k box set in 2010.

TFA has no place in this thread, since this is about The Complete Star Wars Saga Blu-ray release. End of discussion.
Hey -- you brought it up! You say it has no place in this thread, but you're the one who brought it up in the first place. What did you think was going to happen?

Episode VII is now part of the Star Wars Saga, as will be Episode VIII and IX. Last time I checked, Episode VII is on Blu-Ray, and various versions of the saga (1-3, 4-6).

Assuming all her scenes are filmed and compete, I wonder How much the will have to revise/edit them to have her death occur at the end of VIII or early in IX?
Again, such a sad story!

Dude, it's a thread dedicated to Star Wars, a huge franchise that many people have various conflicting feelings towards. And sometimes you have new members coming along expressing their feelings which happen to be in line with the feelings of people who've been around here for a long time.

And if you've been coming around here for years, you should either be used to this type of thing by now or you should just decide to cut your losses and stop exposing yourself to something that you know is going to upset you.

When you get right down to it, what you see on this thread is just the nature of Star Wars fandom and just fandom in general for that matter. Get the hell over it already!

I really try not to get into arguments with people here, but you are always jumping in on comments with a sarcastic attitude playing the Discussion Police, which is as tiresome as anything else I've seen on the boards.

Another option could be to use unused footage from The Force Awakens or Episode VIII if it would make sense in the context of Episode IX's plot.

I hadn't thought of that. I wonder how much unused footage exists?
Obviously it's such a sad event, but I am curious to see how it will be handled.

Star Wars threads get like 5 new pages a day on here. They're the only threads I don't bother reading every post in because there's too damn many. When you guys care THAT freaking much about a movie series is it any wonder some of you take it too personally and start battles over this or that? Doesn't surprise me at all. Reminds me of the early HighDefDigest days and their format war bullshit.

"Yes but your BD-Java profile is slow compared to HD-DVD's gingblott interface, you peasant!"
