Yay! I'll step out of the star wars internet discussion on this agreement. Batman and Robin is basically unwatchable.

I find there's a lot wrong with The Last Jedi, and I don't have to bring politics into it.

But I can, and all I have to say about that is that if I didn't know any better, I would assume Rose Tico is intended to be a scathing parody of a modern college liberal.

Batman & Robin was universally panned by literally everyone though-- critics, audiences, and even the cast and crew.

The Last Jedi? Eh... it's up in the air. Critics and arguably half the audience (give or take) liked it. You can't really say how time will look back on it. If you could... then the concept of retrospect wouldn't even exist. Maybe there will be such a glutton of new Star Wars films coming out for so many years nobody will think much of it at all. Who knows?

I kinda think any generation who grew up with smartphones would be the same. Including yours, had smartphones been invented sooner.
Calm down, they'll grow up just like you did, and the world will keep on spinning. Besides that stereotypes are always an immature way of writing ppl off, imo.

On another note, I wonder what will hold threads like this up, once the UOT is released in 4K. I assume it will be within a couple years. There's already listings of Disney classics up for pre-order in foreign countries (Lion King, Little Mermaid) in 4K.

But really, what are your Star Wars movies ranked in order, minus the newest releases?

1. Empire
2. New Hope
3. Return
4. Revenge
5. Do I even need to rate the rest?

They should be great. Had and Luke on screen together again, going on crazy adventures trying to stop some powerful new threatening menace that the Emperor had as a contingency plan... It'll be amazing!

I heard that due to George Lucas`s writers block, that 7, 8 and 9 are going to be delayed getting made. But, thankfully, he was able to preview one new bad-ass character, Jar-Jar Binks. He`s a cunning, stealthy bounty hunter that manipulates others around him into believing that he is a clumsy oaf.

Haven't seen Solo yet. So, I am sure things will change (possibly) when I do. I also liked the Clone Wars television show.

I believed the part about the critics liking it until I heard Kyle Newman say that many of those critics actually didn't like it. The favorable reviews were only given to maintain access to Disney. I have no reason at all to believe he made that up. That rottentomatoes critics and audience opinions might be closer to equal than we think if that's really the case.

Not only that but their claims are false. It’s easy to remember history by its surviving characters, Gibbons, Twain and other members of the educated elite. Illiteracy is at an all time low, however, one more metric by which the current generation exceeds its predecessors. The nanny state claim is false as well for the same reasons. Censorship is equally declining, and as far the PC nonsense let’s not forget people were so easily offended 60 years ago a person of another color sharing their drinking fountains was a source of discomfort. Snowflakes indeed. I’m very wary of anyone who offers these interpretations.

I don’t go in for rankings much, but my list would always have to start with The Empire Strikes Back and end with Revenge of the Sith.

Riiight. That's why A Wrinkle In Time was universally loved & praised.
Fanbois trying to change history and their conspiracy theories. Ugh.

Well I do find it a tad hypocritical to attack someone who's using these lame generalizations to essentially strawman the opposition to easily dismiss their opinion, by doing the exact same thing yourself.

I don't agree with phobicsquirrel's reasoning, but I don't think it's fair to simply call him a "fanboi"[sic] either.
