The last time I watched the SE's was 12 years ago and I've never looked back.

Maybe because he created something special that millions of people love and cherish? That he's inspired countless artists and filmmakers to follow their dreams? That he's done a lot of good with the money he's made from his work (donating pretty much the entire $4 billion from the Disney sale to education, for example)?

I'm as baffled as anyone at some of the creative decisions he's made, but I think a lot of the personal criticism directed at him has been unfair and sometimes quite cruel.

If the Theatrical Cuts of the Original Trilogy ever get digitally restored and released onto Blu-Ray, I would love it if the video presentations had a film look to them.

Something happened to Lucas. The guy lost his marbles and seemed hell-bent on destroying what he created - directing the diabolical prequels and attempting to bury the (superior) original versions of the classic trilogy. Then selling it all off when upset by the fans.

New construction video of a prop ship being built at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland. Looks a bit like a Clone Transport ship from the Prequels, but check out the (rather obvious and unsubtle) Easter Egg paying tribute to the OT. Watch this. Even if you don't like the video, you should get a kick out of the music.

Oh I love those cues from the start of Revenge of the Sith. Even Jazzy Johnny got his mojo back in time for the last prequel after his work was cut to ribbons on AOTC.

Clones is the only SW soundtrack I don't own. "Across the Stars" is about it. I'm still waiting for Intrada or La-La Land Records to go full-on archival on the Prequel soundtracks.

even on this poll you see a heck of a lot more people bought the complete set rather than just OT and ROTS came in as second favorite film of the trilogy on a big poll of SW fans the other year so how diabolical are the prequels exactly?

An awful lot of completists out there, I guess. The number of folks who own the BTTF trilogy is much higher than those who rewatch the 2nd one regularly, so far as I know, and that goes for the 3rd DIE HARD as well (and the fourth and fifth, less said the better.)

The only SW films that Lucas had a hand in that I'd ever pick up now would be theatricals of ANH and EMPIRE - I don't see any reason to own JEDI, because even if it doesn't suck as bad as AOTC, it still sucks. I did buy the original trilogy on laserdisc, but that was because it was the only way to get the first two in widescreen at the time (plus it was a business expense for my writing.)

or maybe a lot of people actually liked them? (despite problems with silly baby talk dialogue in TPM and few Disney like bits in that one as well)

again Revenge Of The Sith got voted second favorite of all SW films just the other year on a big poll run by Lucasfilm

and, believe it or not, opening weekend, waiting on line for AOTC, people were rushing out of earlier showing smiling, giving thumbs up to people on line, audiences broke out into huge applause at the end etc.

just because clickbait blogs say every hates all of the prequels and always has, doesn't make it true

That's why I think Disney will bow to his wishes until he's gone.
If getting them is contingent on him dying, then frankly, I’d rather not have them.

Not that it's the best option at the moment, but if I want to watch the theatrical originals, I just put in the VHS. Really, the only one I can't stand to watch on BD anymore is ROTJ.

I bought the box set (that collects both trilogies) at the time (2011), just so I could get the original trilogy deleted scenes and vintage documentaries.

I still own the original DVD 2-disc prequel sets. The bonus features are a hell of a lot more entertaining than the films.

As much as the Han stuff in ANH bothers me and Fett's voice change bother me, Return of the Jedi really is the only one I actively hate the SE of.

I own this Blu-ray box set (and the GOUT DVDs), but I never watch them. These days I watch 4K77, Empire Despecialized, and 4K83.

Not immediately but it's in the pipeline. Think they wanted to get the worst affected movies (as regards changes) out there first.

Yes, but Empire is going to be a LOT more work than Return for a long list of reasons.

Does anyone actually dislike the changes made in the Empire SE? Its my favorite way to watch Empire and I don't mind the small continuity changes with voice acting and the Emperor.

Yes. It's definitely the lest-affected of the trilogy, though. In addition, the color is all wrong on the Blu-ray.
