If true, IV will be first Fox catalog title released by Disney.

All the Stars Wars movies has been in pre-order in Best Buy web site. Also, a new DVD released was also programmed in the same day.

You wouldn't happen to have the links do you, because I'm interested in seeing them.

The pre-order here of all the Star Wars in DVD and blu-ray:

https://dealsareus.ca/search?q=star%20wars

The pre-order of Best Buy has inactive now, but it was later in the website.

I'd like to see them re-release the old special features on a bluray disc. The BTS documentaries for the prequels are amazing.

Is the Complete Saga thats out now worth picking up, or is Disney definitely releasing new versions later this year? I've seen the Saga for like $35 and want to grab it but will hold out if better versions are coming soon.

Are these likely to be new editions or just repackaged 2011 blu-ray discs?

2 months to release and no news on this site about it, so I'm not expecting much.

Any new version will come out next year with Episode IX's home media release. I doubt we'll see anything this year aside from maybe new cover art.

Disney re-released all the MCU titles on bluray with matching covers several months before the 4ks. I think we'll see something similar here.

If these are the 2011 encodes, they only need to be pre-ordered for garbage pick-up.

So, new scans, restorations, original unaltered versions and Star Wars' original unaltered mono then? I'm in!

Nope! None of that silliness. Something better: New titles!

Disney has retitled the original Star Wars movie from Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope to simply Star Wars: A New Hope, in line with the titling approach for the current sequel trilogy.

This marks the third official title for George Lucas' epic space opera, which was simply called Star Wars upon its release in 1977. The sequel was released in theaters as Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes back, and upon its re-release in theaters in 1981 the first Star Wars movie had been retitled Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope to clarify its place in the saga, with that title added to the opening crawl.

Yeah, and with that I just bought 4K77. I'd rather support a bootleg that gets it right than a trillion dollar company that doesn't get it at all.

You’re not supposed to buy 4K77. It even says so after the end credits.

I appreciate that, and until now I never would do so. I'm just so tired of the constant changes that are made to this film. This is my one exception. I bought these films at least a dozen times over the past 30 years. This is the last time.

As big of a Star Wars nut as I am I am fine with what I have. The LD transfers for the OT, the DVD set for extras and the lack of Vader's NO! in ROTJ, and the BDs. I would like proper masters of the theatrical cuts to be struck, but I am not holding my breath or using a mishmash of digital sources.
