I legit thought that they were going to kill her off, even when she did the Leia Poppins thing they could still have had her dying from a broken heart later in the film (which I dare say would be slightly more easier to swallow for someone nearer the end of their life than the beginning, if they'd been betrayed by a family member and wasn't carrying twins etc) but hey, given what happened to Ms Fisher then hindsight is a hell of a thing. It seemed like it was being set up that TFA was Han's big exit, TLJ was Luke's and the third one would be Leia's but as Carrie died with the second movie already completed (ADR, everything) then they had no time to retrofit it and had to then retool their plans for the third accordingly.

Is that a known thing, that she died with the second movie completed, including ADR? I've often thought when watching LAST JEDI that they must've been stuck with her on-set line readings. She died the December of ROGUE ONE, a whole year before LAST JEDI was released. I'll bet she hadn't ADR'd anything yet. Some of her line readings are rough/extra-gravelly. There's one moment in particular I'll bet they wished they could've re-dubbed, when she says something like "I need you to understand that" to Poe.

The setup has been there since Return of the Jedi. I don’t have a problem with the scene logically, but it does look silly.

Fair enough on the Leia ADR if I've got that wrong (though I'm the lone nut who contends that Rose's ENTIRE performance has been dubbed in TLJ, I'm thinking that she performed it in a more 'ethnic' accent which they decided to revert back to space-americun in post) but in a way it worked out because of that gravelly nature to her voice, it gives it a bit more texture.

I thought it looked beautifully graceful, almost otherworldly.

How did you view that data on their interface?

I don't know. To me it seems that Leia never really acknowledged that Luke was her brother and that Vader was her father. She seemed more aghast that Vader was Luke's father than anything else. At least until the end when she told Han. And even her knowing it, wasn't much of a setup if we don't know if she ever went through training!

Force Awakens and Last Jedi are missing so much exposition for the 30 odd years between Jedi and Awakens that everything feels so disjointed and everything comes from nowhere.

Wouldn't the bitrate depend on the bandwidth of an individual's connection?

Not necessarily. I've watched some tech analysis videos that showed once you reach a certain bandwidth going higher doesn't effect bitrate anymore, because the service has a maximum streaming output. I remember the guy testing Spider-Man Homecoming and showing that even with a gigabit connection it still only streamed at 25mbps or so. The UHD disc was in the high 70s most of the time.

Say what you want about the prequels, but at least they had world building.

And a greater understanding and context for everything that came afterward.

That's one of the main downfalls of Episodes VII-IX, it's that there's no context for the events. No understanding of where the galaxy is 30 years on in any kind of in depth or meaningful way. It feels like there's a chapter missing. Episode III flows so perfectly into Episode IV. Hate them all you want, but Lucas knew what he was doing and got the movies he wanted to finish HIS saga.

I don’t hate the first two episodes of the sequel trilogy but after rewatching the PT I don’t want to leave it just yet! In other words I was going to continue onto Rogue One and the original trilogy but decided I want to binge Clone Wars (which I’ve sadly never seen before!) because I’m really enjoying everything going on. The ST has surface level enjoyment to me while the PT really gives context to a lot more of what’s going on in their world at this time much like the OT. So I totally agree with you.

My biggest gripe with the PT comes from the look of Episode II & III. They look so incredibly fake. The actors are so lost and bad, they aren't interacting with their environment because there simply is none. It looks like literally everything was done 100% in the computer. These two films looks like a very long cut scene from a PS2 game. Especially Episode II. Episode I at least looks and feels like a real movie.

Some fans have already created isolated score tracks based on the soundtrack releases. Here's the opening few minutes of Star Wars

It looks like one of the "despecialized" releases includes an isolated score. So it may take some hunting down, but they're out there.

TLJ included an isolated score version as a bonus for the digital edition (Movies Anywhere).
