I'm ordering the whole set but for me Star Wars is all about 4, 5 and 6 - anything else is just superfluous

There, I said it.

I suspect this will be somewhere between $69.99 and $74.99 on release day.
Not that it matters or that I care.

It would take more than a $10 difference for me not to buy the complete saga.

We can hunt for deals on other blu rays. This is THE blu ray release.

I was a little kid when I watched them and I knew right away that Darth Vader was Lukes dad, my 8 year old nephew who has yet to even watch any Star Wars already knows too. Unless your kids are sheltered from birth there is a 0% chance they will not already know Vader is Luke's father. The big reveal is to the character not the audience, Luke's reaction and performance does not change because the viewer already knows before hand.

Watch them in any order you chose but I was just pointing out my reasoning.

Same here, although I will likely cancel if the price for the US version drops. Right now the difference is only about $7. No matter how much I'd rather have the UK's packaging, if the difference gets to be a lot more, I'll just have to suck it up and get the US set.

You end 2 with Anakin getting married and pick up with his kid not knowing what happened in between.
Episode 5 gets the big vader reveal then you flash back to 3 to see how it all happened.
Finish with 6.

Think that is perfect way to go
Except then 3 spoils the fact that Leia is Luke's sister...

Can't wait for this. This set may end up being the first blu-ray I preorder.

I'm sure the UK version will go down, as well. UK is famous for cheap box sets - I can almost promise it will be at or below US price on release day. Alien Quad was still at $89.99 on release day, and shipped mine was $55.

Although I still detest the art, I just care about the fact that the discs have actual spindles. I would much prefer art that included Stars, or Wars, but I'll live with it as long as I can get the proper packaging.

Even in the unlikely case the UK version is more expensive (I really, really don't think it will be though), I'd still stick with it - I just can't spend that much money on a release and then store them flat against cardboard.

I bought my wife a copy of Almost Famous from Amazon.uk. Had no issues, came via Royal Mail.

You do pay a little coin for shipping.

Except when they originally came out... it was a reveal to the audience.

People should still watch them in the order they were made.

Who makes a movie assuming that the audience will already know the twist?

And suppose, just suppose a child isn't aware of the reveal before they see it...

But if you watch 4-6 first you cheat people out of the revelation that Palpatine is really Darth Sidious!

ewww, after seeing the U.S. packaging I'm glad I got my pre-order in from Barnes and Noble for only $44.79+tax.... otherwise I'd just wait for the U.K. version

I've debated with myself about pre ordering the saga and finally came to a decision. I'm going with the original trilogy and then someday I'll but the complete set when it drops to about 30 dollars or something. I paid 80 for the matrix collection and there's a 25 dollar deal on that , lol.

EVERYBODY regardless of whether they're a fan or not has known that Vader is Luke's father for 30 years. That spoiler ship has sailed. I vote for chronological order.

I like IV, V, then I, II, III as a flashback, then VI.

As for the poll... I'd like the unaltered set just to archive, but the truth is, I'd probably only watch the latest edition. I just hope Greedo shoots first again.
