Great. Now every time I watch PM when Maul is about to kill Qui-Gon, I'll picture Obi-Wan jumping in and shouting:
"Wait, leave him alone! We're friends!"
Maul: "He's not my friend! He's a f--king idiot!"
Qui-Gon: "What's that supposed to mean?"

That's always the downside when you have a boxset of films something gets left out. I would have much preferred an embossed Star Wars logo on a black background and separate cases featuring artwork or Photoshop'd floating heads.

I don't mind the artwork of the Saga set but the Anakin/Luke juxtaposition (especially the Tatooine setting) feels more Lucasfilm PR than a bridge between the two trilogies. It just doesn't resonate with me as much as it does with other people who've commentated on it.

For the entire saga, I would have liked a black box with the logo raised in gold leaf... That box would contain the two seperate trilogies in their own packaging. Dark blue (OT) & dark red (PT) boxes with raised silver leaf lettering. Inside those would be the individual films (in standard BD cases) with their respective original poster artwork.

While I don't love the complete saga artwork, I don't hate it as I can see the reasoning behind it. It is too TPM looking for me though.

I stronly dislike the complete saga artwork, but LOVE the idea you have. Basically, keep the preorder artwork from like 5 months ago, right? Would LOVE that. It was simple, classy and right to the point.

So let me ask this again because it keeps going unanswered and the tread is to massive to sift through again, but um has it been confirmed that any of the deleted scenes are going to be reinstered into any of the films? Not asking about changes to shots and effects just wondering if any deleted/extended scenes are being reinsterted or if any that were already inserted are being trimmed?

Regardless of color, it's no match for a good blaster at your side! LOL.

Then my job is done here.

And it works in reverse for me too. Anytime I see something with Peter Serafinowicz in it ("Shaun...", "Spaced", "Couples Retreat" etc), as soon as he opens his mouth, I picture Darth Maul.

They should give the Darth Maul Zombie his own graphic novel spin-off. You read it here first....

I never knew that Peter Serafinowicz was the voice of Darth Maul! Yeah, I can see that screwing with my head now, when watching Phantom Menace and Shaun of the Dead.

Great parody post.

At least... I hope it was a post made in jest.

Just preordered both trilogies.

I ended up saving like four bucks on Amazon doing it that way.

Yes, I do. Lucas has had a definitive vision all these years and although it's trickled out here and there, we are reaching that point where the movies will be exactly the way he wants them.

Still no word on N' Sync deleted scene though.
I would refuse to buy the set if the N'Sync footage were included.
That was the dumbest idea ever!
So glad fans complained so much that he didn't go through with it in the end.

Here we are a little over a month away from the Star Wars release and not a single peep, in regards to the masters, whether they're new, or existing, the films themselves. And BOTH franchises are property of Lucasfilm....
I see what you are getting at, but it still doesn't prove anything, as they could approach them differently.
They are 2 very different franchises after all.
Time will tell. Only 49 more days to go!!!!

Especially for AOTC. The fight with Obi Wan and Anakin always seemed way too short and underwhelming. Anakin originally used the 2 swords longer.
I want that included as well.

I am pretty sure it's at least 14 hours or so.
Clearly the geeks know the exact running time.

Anakin becoming Vader is definitely the most shocking thing in the entire Saga.

What George did with the prequels is take the OT and make the SW galaxy richer, denser, and deeper. He had to wait for technology to catch up with his mind. So, in a way the prequels represent what the OT should have been. ESB and ROTJ were directed by other people and aren't 100% Lucas' vision. That's why they seem out of place with the PT.

Maybe Lucas should remake the OT with younger actors, LOL.
I love Deter Jettster, and would have liked to see more of him.

I really hope they give us the best product we can get. Lucas is an obsessive perfectionist, you have to know that he cares about the criticism probably more than almost any other major filmmaker because he constantly goes back to his work and addresses these concerns. They are certainly not rushed for a deadline this time, so if we don't get the best, there really is no excuse.

To be clear, though, I am not in either side of this argument about whether the new xfers will be great or awful. I am sitting comfortably in the middle, and right now my mind is made up to buy the set even if the lightsabers are pinker than raw beef.
Lucas is an obsessive perfectionist? Really?

Last time I checked he though good was good enough.

Check out the Cinefex edition of TPM, were he said people who go to ILM usually want the best of the best, but he just wants to get by.

If he were a perfectionist, people wouldn't be worried about the updates (going all the way, or leaving them as is), or the PQ and SQ.

I wish it was true though.

I am also hoping for the best.

It would be an epic fail if they messed up the MOST anticipated BD release of all time.

I am picturing the end scene of A New Hope, just all of us at the BD release coronation ceremony, as the BD box walks arm-in-arm with Chewbacca and Jar-Jar to the throne to be crowned KING.
Someone is getting sentimental!

We can only hope!

On that note it is interesting that Maul who beats Qui-Gon fairly easily one on one is considered by Lucas to be much weaker than Dooku who was Qui-Gon's master. Most students surpass their masters (Obi-Wan surpassed Qui-Gon, Anakin surpassed Obi-Wan, Vader Surpassed Sidious, Sidious surpassed Plagueis [if that story was true]... etc) I just find it odd that Maul can be viewed as weak when the master of a Jedi Knight he killed is considered so much stronger.

To break down their strengths I'd say Maul was a better swordsman, while dooku was a better force user. Not to say that Maul was a bad force user as he was able to push Obi-Wan around easily.

Maul is the Boba Fett of the PT he is enigmatic and that made him cool and memorable, the only thing that makes Dooku memorable is that Christopher Lee played him.

Doesn't change the fact that Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan vs Maul is the best lightsaber fight in the saga though. I cant wait to see and hear that on Bluray
