Not necessarily! The Denon AVR790 has a video reference series processor from Anchor Bay technologies, providing analog-to-digital video deinterlacing and upconversion to HD, with both component and HDMI outputs, and features 1080p 24Hz/60Hz HDMI pass-through, allowing a single HDMI cable run to your HDTV. In other words, it will convert your component video signal to HDMI. And it can be had for a very good price! Hope this helps but there are other options out there.

me personally, I would just connect the xbox Component cables directly to the TV. Keeps the signal distance as short as possible, and no unecessary conversions need to take place.
But, If you just want less clutter going to the TV, then yeah, the HDMI upconvert might be for you. |
