Default Connection question....

hi there.

My bedroom TV only has one HDMI input. because of this i have to make a decision that i dont know how to make. Do i connect my HD Cable box via HDMI and my PS3 via Component? or the other way around?

thanks.

Agreed. You could also purchase an HDMI switcher. Then you'd have both running through HDMI, which would be cool.

I think this would benefit most. You can adjust picture settings (brightness, contrast, color etc) individually for bluray [hdmi] and cable [component].

I like the HDMI switch idea, which would combat the clutter...but you would have to share picture settings for bluray and cable. In this case, I would adjust for bluray and just live with the quality for cable. (or find a happy medium)

Good thinking. I'm sure he could adjust for Blu, then deal with that setting while watching cable. One thing we didn't necessarily think about/discuss is that many TVs have multiple custom settings, which are switchable on the fly pretty easily (e.g. "custom," "sports," "movies," etc.). If his TV has that, then he can just have a couple different settings -- one for each source -- and switch between those settings depending on the source he's watching.
