Default CC has a Universal Blu-ray display?

so
I went to circuit city to pick up World trade center when I stopped to look at the Blu sampler thing.... It showed scenes from sin City and Batman and I thought COOL! then it showed a list of supporting studios and it listed UNIVERSAL!!!!! It played some clips from movies and it showed the scene from knocked up where Seth Rogens person gets stuck in the house and he is throwing the doll around saying "fetch!" to the little girl and a scene from the Bourne Supremecy! Where matt looks up from the sniper rifle.... I was like WTF is going on! could this be a sign of things to come? or a strange mistake?

Well, if HD DVD's exclusivity deals are anything like the Paramount/Dreamworks 18 month deal they just made, then the Universal one is set to expire in October of 2007. Who knows, Bourne Trilogy on Blu this Christmas anyone?

It wouldn't be too far-fetched then.

I saw the same thing on a Blu-ray display demo disk at Costco. I also did a double take. But right now I am not putting much into it.

I may have seen the same demo disc at Costco myself recently.

It was playing on a Blu-ray endcap they had set up with stacks of the BD players.

I saw footage of Bourne and a couple other movies that made me go 'huh?'. Noticed the Universal Logo also...

The disc inside the player was indeed a Blu-ray disc that appeared to have been supplied by the BDA or Sony.

There is no question that it had _not yet released on DVD_ movies on it from Universal.

Very interesting.

So this Blu-ray disc that you saw, it was definitely a BD and playing on a BD player? It had footage of Bourne?? What other movies did you see from Universal? The Universal logo did not say Univeral Music? I'm confused here, I don't see how the BDA would let this out of the bag without a word.

As I said before. IF Universal's "exclusivity deal" is also 18 months long, then by November of this year they could potentially start releasing titles on Blu-ray.

I was talking about a release date announcement. They have been showing off 'Sin City' on certain BVHE blu-rays since February 07.
