As I said before. IF Universal's "exclusivity deal" is also 18 months long, then by November of this year they could potentially start releasing titles on Blu-ray.

The sales person then told the gentalman that the Blu-Ray player COULD NOT play SD DVDs and that only the LG DF or HD-DVD player could play SD-DVDs. Owning 2 Blu-Ray sand alown players (both of the ones that he said could not play SD-DVDs) I jumped in and answered many complex questes involving HDMI/HDCP and upconverting (complex to the sales person not me...). The gentalman ended up walking out with a Panasonic Blu-Ray player.

I may have seen the same demo disc at Costco myself recently.

It was playing on a Blu-ray endcap they had set up with stacks of the BD players.

I saw footage of Bourne and a couple other movies that made me go 'huh?'. Noticed the Universal Logo also...

The disc inside the player was indeed a Blu-ray disc that appeared to have been supplied by the BDA or Sony.

There is no question that it had _not yet released on DVD_ movies on it from Universal.

Very interesting.

So this Blu-ray disc that you saw, it was definitely a BD and playing on a BD player? It had footage of Bourne?? What other movies did you see from Universal? The Universal logo did not say Univeral Music? I'm confused here, I don't see how the BDA would let this out of the bag without a word.

I was talking about a release date announcement. They have been showing off 'Sin City' on certain BVHE blu-rays since February 07.

Thats why they had to get Paramount titles or they were destine to fail, Universal has alot of good library titles, but as far as new ones its pick and choose

Not asking anyone to do anything illegal but if you see the universal blu-ray disc playing, someone might be able to have it accidentally fall into their pocket....

Next time I'm at Costco (go there quite often it seems) I'll try to remember to bring my SD1000 down and at least grab a couple stills. Maybe video if i can figure out how that works (has a 2gb card so should hold a bit).

If no one is going to post pictures confirming this, why don't the posters who have seen this reveal which Costco or CC they visited to. That way if someone is possibly in that area that needs confirmation they can see for themselves and post back. Just a thought...

I saw the same demo disc at Best Buy today and saw the Universal (possibly music, I didn't notice) logo; but it also had the Paramount logo. The disc may have been made some time ago. That said, it appeared to be a relatively recent demo disc, which I had not seen before.

Located in Torrance, CA, at Pacific Coast Highway
