Default Blu-ray shelf/display ideas

Ok so I've run out of room for my movies (literally have them stacked on the floor now) and its time to get a new shelf. I dont want just a big clunky book shelf though .. I want it to look kind of cool.

I started searching the home theater galleries here to see how others are displaying their movies but there are a lot of galleries. I figured it would be much less time consuming just asking everyone to link me what you think looks cool. So please, either from this site or others, send me some links of some cool Blu-ray collections on display.

Thanks in advance

also, if anyone wants to look at my home theater gallery and make some suggestions about what shelf/shelves would look cool with everything else ... all suggestions are welcome and appreciated

you really dont have that many, but given the layout of your room, i would buy something like this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1218105499528

holds more than you need but something liike this should work for your space limitations.

Don't go by the pictures .. ive gotten many more since then ... not to mention PS3 games ... i have about a 2 ft. stack on the floor ..... so i do need something bigger .. and significantly bigger because i dont wanna run out of room again in a few months ...

I like that the shelf closes .... would prolly help to keep dust off my movies ... but it feels kinda too big and clunky .... maybe though ... i really like that it closes up ...

It's not bad size-wise really - a bit over 5' tall, 2' wide, 14.5" deep -- That'd be perfect to the Left of my TV for keeping them DUST-FREE. Then I could maybe put a display case where my current DVD rack is (right of my pc monitor). Plus, it holds 448 Dvd's !

SPECS:
Warranty Terms - Parts 5 years
Height: 64"
Product Width: 24"
Product Weight: 106 lbs.
Product Depth: 14-1/2"
Assembly Required Yes
Max# of CDs: 702 - Max# of DVDs: 448 - Max# of VHS: 266
Material: Composite wood

ive been thinking about getting the same one. if you look at the size specs (as aero posted) its really not that big, and it holds alot. Im a big dust nazi too so i also like that it closes, cause movies get dusty as hell.

Wow - is that the usual formula then? Nice if so! Tho' you might have to account also for the Boxsets (Band of Bros., Batman Anthology, Ultimate Matrix Collection, Clint Eastwood/Dirty Harry Coll., etc) - which might take up some space. But, who cares! Space for almost 600 Blurays? It'd be the Last Bluray storage rack most would ever need. I might take the specs & see about getting the wood myself. Then talk to my brother's carpenter who did his "Length of House" deck for his above-ground pool. That thing came out Nice!

Yea, dust is a pain. Recently I took down almost 4 rows of my dvd's to make room for my Blurays. The Black cases really Love showing off how much dust they collect!

theres also ones that are less exspensive and a little smaller like http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1051384081982 which would hold 426 blu's

213 Dvd storage capacity which means _____ Blurays (?) --- good price too, $74. If I had room on my walls I might think of that. Actually, it "could" theoretically go on my Right side wall, to the right of my new HT Signs...

I think that one is actually $140.... 74 was the savings. But that was just an example. Try searching for "wall mounted dvd storage" to find tons of options.

Doh! - Yes I read it wrong, thx. Still, I like the above 2nd option from Best Buy that would hold 426 Blurays, & is barely 4' high (!) for $170. I'm at 130-something now, so another 200+ is a Long way off, even with some of the Boxsets taking up a bit more space.

You'd have more room if you hung that Depared poster on the wall.

Ikea makes cheap, and simple shelving units......

I have all of my DVDs on the floor though

Why not look into a large storage ottoman etc.... that way they're out of plain view.

If you have the time and you're a little handy, why not build one
