Default Beowulf ?

I went and saw Beowulf last night ... i loved it. I think it would look great on bluray but it is a joint Warner, Paramount thing. So will it come to both or just HD-DVD?

The domestic distributor is Paramount. Unfortunately, it looks like this one goes to HD DVD

Just saw this. Wasn't a fan of the cartoon "shrek like" appearance in certain scenes. Overall it was very entertaining. Loved the end even though it leaves you hanging...not sure I want to see a Beowulf 2.

I saw it as well yesterday, but not one of my favorites...so it wouldn't be in my collection anyways.

Did anyone see the trailer for the new Fox movie "Jumper" with Haden Christiansen? That looked like it might be very entertaining!

Here's a link to the trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/jumper/

Yeah, there are a number of films I have been boycotting for political reasons as well. But Paramount and Dreamworks have really irritated me so they get nothing from my wallet. It's the only power I have as a consumer.

Thumbs up beowulf. first post as well

I thouroughly enjoyed this movie, or course there was cartoony moments ... dont tell anybody, but it was animation. Im sure that secret will crash the stock market. There were no lifeless eyes i was paying attention to that , and the mild mannerism of the actors came out as well. There were a few moments were I thought I was watching a stylized movie ala 300 or Sin City. This movie screams bluray, even though im 90-10 onmy hd collection in favor of blue I have to see this in HD in whatever format it is released on

It's Warner in the UK, so should be region free for everyone on Blu-ray like (The Island)

Default Wish it would come to BLu

But HD-DVD will get it for its self. My brother and I Got two 1080p Tvs- samsung together for 300- he had an xbox 360 hddvd drive and i have a ps3.
Although 300 had more special content on hd-dvd how ever, Better picture quality on the Blu-ray.
I dont know why ppl r so stupid to get an hd-dvd player- my brother got one with his xbox 360 at christmas whent hey were both out. Blu- holds more storage. Tahts all you need- sure they have about the same limits for graphics how ever blu has more storage.
I hope beowulf comes out for blu, and if war of the worlds would come out for blu wuth event horizon- ill be happy.

This should be on BD everywhere else but north America with WB distributing it everywhere else. I am just back from the cinema and the opening credits are WB. Paramount don't even get mentioned.

How soon do you think it will take WB to release this on Blu Ray anyway?

I just watched Beowulf last night in 3D or RealD as they call it on the glasses.
It kicked so much a** !!!
The only thing I don't understand is why this is rated PG-13?! Animated violence? How come most Mangas are R then? I mean c'mon it had tons of blood and gore, nudity, sexual references etc...

Thinking about watching it again though!

I really hope once this becomes available on blu at some point that there will be a 3D version as well which also works!

Default pg 13 in 3-d

If you saw it in 3-D, which I did, I think the 3-D cleavage scene when the woman was cleaning the table and bending over to reveal cleavage and you saw here breasts swinging in 3-D was a good enough reason to give it a pg-13 rating

The IMAX 3D version of Beowulf was the most fun ive ever had in theatres. I agree, I really hope this eventually comes to bluray (with silly glasses and all)

On behalf of Neil Gaiman, I thank you for this comment.

Now please read the Wikipedia entry on the origin of this storyline. It is indeed basic, but for all the reasons you probably don't know.

And Beowulf will be out on Blu-ray in Europe, quite possibly region-free, too. So there will be the import option before Paramount starts releasing Blu-ray titles again Stateside.
