Another New Blu-ray Owner! - Blu-ray Forum

So last week I was strolling Target and saw that they had one 60GB PS3 left.

I went home...thunk it over for the night...and returned to Target the next day and bought the thing for $450 (after a 10% discount). I wanted the 60Gb so i could play PS2 games.

Well anyways...I have been and HD-DVD supporter for about a year now (and will continue to be until one format prevails) and over the course of the year...I have gathered around 40-45 HD-DVD titles. Not too shabby...

Well...I have owned my PS3 for one week...and thanks to all these sales (Amazon BOGO...J&R $10) I have 24 Blu Ray titles

I have been EXTREAMLY happy with my PS3 and it is a wonderful Blu Ray player. So...I just thought I would say "Hi!" to all you other Blu Ray people (or in my case...Purple People!

I picked up the PS3 at a local Target in Chicago.

My first movies I watched were the three Pirates movies...and man did they look great...just as good as any HD-DVD!

To the poster above...the movies I got were:

Pirates 1, Pirates 2, Pirates 3, The Fugitive, Road Warrior, Last Samurai, Christmas Vacation, Casino Royal, Fifth Element, Cruel Intentions, Identity, Hostel, Arlington Road, Big Fish,

And my preorders and 5 Free movies:

Harry Potter 1, Harry Potter 2, Harry Potter 3, Harry Potter 4, Harry Potter 5, The Prestige, Swordfish, American Psycho, SWAT, The Last Waltz

I have noticed at the Targets here that occasionally I will see a 60G sitting on the shelf next the 40Gs and 80Gs. Haven't seen it at every one but have seen on more than one occasion

Dude, welcome to the Blu side. Not to bust your you know whats, but I have not seen an HD-DVD come even close to one of the Pirates movies yet.

I hope you got the Fifth Element (Remastered) version. The original was poor and is why they re-released the remaster.

Its still too hard to believe. Anyone can bs on a forum and find a picture online to post. I'm not calling the guy a liar or anything, but I have a hard time believing he was able to find over 300 different Blu-Ray movies in 5 days.
