Default Please help...possible center problem?

Recently hooked up my Infinity PC350 center and had some problems last night. I was watching Step Brothers (on blu-ray) and noticed the dialog was very flat/muffled/quiet coming out of the center. When music or louder scenes that involved the 2 mains or other speakers came on, everything sounded fine. The audio was Dolby True HD and was decoded by my PS3 and passed to my Onkyo 605. This is the first time I have noticed this and it was fairly obvious. Anyone have any ideas?

Note: I am crossing the PC350 over @ 80hz and ran Audessey. I increased the decibles Audessey set by 4 already.

Try placing your center speaker vertically to see how that makes a difference. It may not be feasable to leave it that way but is worth a try.

Out of curiousity, is it just Step Brothers which causes this to occur? How are other BDs in your collection playing through your center channel?

Not sure, haven't had much time to experiment yet. It just seems like that was the first time it happened. Not sure if it is related to True HD or not. I had Dynamic Range Control off in the PS3.

Dynamic range control should be off.

And if the 350 is bi-ampable - make sure that the biamp jumpers are firmly in place (if you are not bi-amping it )

It minimizes the dynamics of the audio- ie the big explosions are quieter and the whispers are louder- it compresses the volume of the soundtrack together and generally is seen as "a bad thing".
