Default Need help building Home theater room

Ok so here is what my set up will be.

58 inch Plasma Panny

7.1 HT System

Energy C-series

2 C-500 Towers
1 S10.3 Sub
1 C-C-100 Center
4 C-200 Bookshelf Speakers

Pushed by either a Pioneer VSX-9130 or Yamaha 863 or 1800 If I can find one

Anyway my room willl be Dark ( Why the plasma) It will be 14 feet by 14feet
and I will make a in french it's called a "faux plancher" due to the fact that this room will be in my basement.

So here are my questions:

- What kind of floor should I install to have a better sound? ( carpet, laminate, vinyl)?

- What colour of paint on my walls to have the theater effect?

- What kind of isolation, is there a brand which is better for sound that another one?

- I have big posters from Blockbuster of Lord of the rings which I will need to do something with them, what ideas do you have??

- I will surely put my plasma on a wall bracket, so should I put my receiver, blu-ray player and PS3 right below or behing my seats?

I need help here as I'm not quite sure whjat to do and I would like to have people say wow nice room and afterwards wow nice sound and picture.

thx in advance

Regards

jomari has turned me onto this link here which has piles of information about listening rooms and isolation techniques. It's quite a read, but should get you started on some of the questions you have.
