Much more than PiP. I watched some of it on the HD DVD. It is a much better experience than the DVD. I can see why Warner wants to wait. It is defintely a better exeperience with it. i don't usually watch so much of it at one time but I watched half the movie with IME turned on and it was very interesting the way it was presented. The BD version will be worth the wait. |

I didn't like the 2nd & 3rd enough to buy on DVD so I definitely won't buy the Matrix until I can buy just the first (and probably the 2nd). That being said, I won't buy the first movie until it gets a BR optimized encode. I was just in Fry's and saw a Matrix clip on their HD DVD display and it just didn't look that great. It's possible the demo disc is not on par with the actual release but based on what I saw, it looked like most of their typical soft releases.

[QUOTE=ascian;101585]
Matrix, Spiderman, Oceans, Pirates, thank goodness for LOTR and hopefully Bourne Ultimatum, the 21st century is killing trilogies. I'm sure I just jinxed that one. Xmen can escape as a mediocre 3rd.[QUOTE] These are the top trilogies of all time as listed on Boxofficemojo.com (domestic-last updated 5-15-07) 70's trilogies: Star Wars 4-6, Jaws, 80's trilogies: Indiana Jones, Batman, Back to the Future, Terminator, Die Hard 90's trlogies: Star Wars 1-3, Jurassic Park, Matrix, Mission Impossible, Home Alone, Hannibal Lector, American Pie 00's trilogies: Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Spider-Man, X-Men, (Pirates, Shrek, Ocean's 11, Rush Hour, Bourne) In my opinion it can safely be said that the 21st century is hardly to blame for trilogies! Name 5 of these that all 3 were actually good/great movies. We all have our favorites but I can honestly say my favorite trilogies could have used some help in at least one of the movies (I bolded my fave's-except Aliens which was not on the list). I know $ doesn't say what's a great trilogie or not-but it says something. Spider-Man, although not everyone's favorite is #4 (domestic & world-wide)-on the other hand Harry-Potter is 2nd world wide and 5 domestically-and I need 2 copies of that trilogy (1 to wipe and the other to cover it up with). As you said-back on topic-I find Keanu saying, "ahhhh bogus" (anyone younger than 20-25 google Bill & Ted) in all his movies so it's hard for me to really like much of what he's in ![]() |

Cause Aliens is a Quadrilogy?
![]() THey won't break out the Matrix until next year. Don't forget that both sets were almost definately originally Xmas items, when HD DVD pops the Matrix set a month or so after the Pirates announcement it smelled mightily of a payoff for a countermove, that obviously didn't do much for them. lol same here. The only downside is we're likely to get a HD DVD port and not a maxed out bitrate encode. I just won't spend money on sub par transfers which means I'll have to wait a month to rent it via Netflix.

I realized that after I posted-so then what happens to Harry Potter after the trillionth one of those comes out? I say boot it from the trilogy list-wait-you could then argue that Star Wars doesn't belong also...since it really isn't a trilogy anymore.

In fact, use the search function for this in general, as this has been talked about often, as you can imagine. |

Yeah, I remember when LGF was just a little engine that could. Tell you what, they are pumping out some serious contenders to their "larger" studio counterparts.
LGF has some excellent films. Poor Universal.. so dead set on HD-DVD. I wish I could be the walls or the table in the conference room for a week. Would be sweet. |
