That would more than likely depend on you having a Receiver or not. Other than that you should be good to go. Have fun with the BD player!

You can get one for about the same on ebay. Then you will need speakers to go with. How's your budget?

i was able to hook my 2.1 logitech 200 watt spearkers,,using an adapter.....it probably sounds better than than the tv speakers,,,,,they are thx certified,,,but it seems that they are missing something. proably the digital part, they are analog

seems like the tv speakers are on with i have the logitechs running, have to turn the tv spearkers off with the volume control...have not seen anything on a menu where i can shut them off...got the 40 inch sony lcd

okay...i had a setting that allowed to to use stereo analog, and it makes my logitech 2.1 have more volume

as for the bx1, and the fireware update, you just plug rj-45 cable into the unit...go to home-network...click on it...asks if you want to do an update, click ok, and bingo...does everything auto....when its done, it will shut-off the bx1...just start it up and you are done...don,t turn off the dvd player during the update.....

Default BX1 not the same as the S350??

Here is what I have noticed...

I have the S350. In my manual under Audio Output Signals it has a table that has a few differences from the corresponding table on the BX1 manual that I am viewing online.

The S350 has the following under DD TrueHD via HDMI and set to Auto: LPCM 7.1ch

The BX1 has the following under DD TrueHD via HDMI and set to Auto: LPCM 5.1ch (Dolby Digital)

For DTS-HD Master Audio, both manuls have: LPCM 5.1ch (DTS core). So, both players are not identical in the way they handle the audio. Whether this means that the BX1 does not decode DD TrueHD, I'm not sure.

Default costco,s bdp bx-1

what are you opinions on the costco,s bdp-bx-1.....sort of looks like a copied 350 sony player.

i have had mine for 2 weeks now, and think its the greatest thing i have puchased in some time...just cannot get over how clear the pictures look..

couple of great movies i have to watch are transformers, and polar express looks nice too

going to get -the final coutdown- which should be out in a month
