This is kinda an odd one but here it goes...
I own both a PS3 and a Philips upconverting player. I originally got the Philips to play back PAL content. I've noticed the Philips will show the complete picture of 4:3 DVDs, but the PS3 will cut off the sides (approximately 5% on each edge). However, the PS3 will show the complete picture if the content has been ripped to an external HD and played back as a MPEG2 file. Is there anyway to turn off whatever on the PS3 is causing it to cut off the sides? Right now I have to either rip a DVD I want to watch, or play it back on the Philips with inferior PQ. Thanks |
