Default Movies that are found in every household...

I remember when Forrest Gump came out on video, within a year, there was at least one copy in every house I went to.

Then Titanic came out, and (almost) every house had that.

What are some movies that you have noticed that are in every house you've been in.

(if the wishlists on here have any meaning, I'm betting almost every house will own The Dark Knight.)

Tim Burton's Batman. That got such big hype that people that saw the movie in theaters bought it on VHS and people that heard the hype bout the movie on VHS too. Wow VHS lol

I wouldn't say Dark Knight will be in every house.....especially people with young children...a little too violent for the youngins...i remember in '93 Jurassic Park on VHS was HUGE!

Just about every person besides the O.P. has mentioned a "like-it-or-hate-it" movie. E.T. is an exception. Some of these "Must see" movies just aren't good enough for me to actually buy. I won't be buying Dark Knight when it comes out, either. I *really* want Iron Man on Blu, but haven't bought it yet, but I think Wanted will be a first-day buy for me (would have bought Iron Man, but wanted to get it at Best Buy here in town (rewards), but they were sold out of their thirty copies within hours....)

Three words: Wizard of Oz. That film is so great and loved, I can't imagine a house not having it. A close second would have to go to any classic Disney film.

I wouldn't say any one in perticular, but I know every single house I go to has at least one Disney animated classic either on Dvd or Vhs.

Well if the community page is any indication, then that movie is Iron Man at the moment.
